About This Game

The New World looms on the horizon, on its shore the shining city of progress, and the last beacon of hope in your search for a cure to your family's fatal disease - New Arc. You arrive to this foreign land by steerage of a steamship, cramped with thousands of other immigrants, a stranger in a strange land, full of wonder. But you will soon discover that the city's beauty runs only skin-deep and all you find is rot beneath the golden facade.

Dark smoke from the factories chokes the skies, segregation, inequality, and corruption run rampant. You will have to rise from the very bottom, make tough decisions, and get your hands dirty if you are to succeed - and you must, no matter the cost!

Craft technopunk gear or master the arcane arts, fight, steal or smooth-talk your way to the top and become the hero or villain you want to be. You will not have to face the trials of this world alone, however; find your companions and gather your party, make foes and allies, fall in love, get involved in a massive conspiracy, and change the course of history forever.

Will you rise to the occasion?

Become the Hero or the Villain you want to be

Create your own character as a Human or Elf, choose your gender, background and appearance. Keep in mind that inhabitants of this world might have their own prejudices and will treat you differently depending on your choices.

Gather your Party

You won’t be alone on these shores. Meet & recruit a diverse cast of characters, learn their stories, face their demons together and help them grow, or use them for your own gain and discard them as fits your schemes. Who knows, maybe you will even find your true love!

Master Technology or Magic

Will you master the secrets of Magic to incinerate enemies as a Hellfire occultist, curse them with mystical Voodoo abilities, or assist your allies as a Celestial sage? Or will you rather cast aside the obsolete ways and become a Steampunk mechanic, Dieselpunk engineer or Teslapunk scientist, and turn your character into a walking steam-powered fortress?

Fight for your Right

Command your party in turn-based tactical battles. Fight head-on and brute-force your way through encounters or observe and analyze each situation and come up with cunning strategies to conquer even seemingly overwhelming odds. There’s a plethora of skills, spells, crafting recipes and consumables at your disposal to turn the tide of battle in your favor.

Manifest Your Destiny

Make a name for yourself, influence countless lives for better or worse, and watch the consequences of your choices unfold. You may start out as only a poor immigrant, but soon your exploits will fill the front pages of newspapers and the events you set in motion will change the fate of the New World forever.

This games got a lot of potential, and its important to understand it's still in early access. With that being said I will focus on aspects that can be improved. Magic system overhaul: Magic is just too weak in it's current state, I only see them being buff bots in their current state. It's important to note the permanent costs associated with magic when determining their scaling. EX. Fireball dealing 10 +1d6 is laughable when the mages auto attack does 25-30 damage or the diesel engineer does 100-300 with a burst fire. Impact of leveling: Simply put without the primary attributes being impacted by leveling the entire leveling process only benefits your skills and a few noteworthy talents. Overall it leaves a bad taste where the player doesn't feel like they are getting stronger as a result of leveling, given how powerful primary stats are I'm not sure how to rectify this... but it might be interesting to let you pick tech blue prints when you level or specific magic cards for m...

I strongly dislike being stuck in a dialogue. I refuse to give a positive rating until I can access the save/load screen during dialog or to quit dialog without having to go through the whole thing. Absolute waste of time to have to go through it all just to reload a save file because you disliked an outcome. Not looking to save during a conversation, I just don't appreciate the waste of time.

12.6 hrs game play for me to do one complete engineer play through up to whats on offer, game is incomplete however i did enjoy it and hope once fully released i will come back and continue the story, i also look forward to a magic play through, is it worth the £20 in its current state, probably not for the hours you'll get out of it at this point, but if you want to support the game to hope they can finish it than that's for you and your purse to decide.

Game has a potential. But amount of bugs and overall quality is so bad that this is barely playable. Most common bugs I ran into: - Getting stuck in textures (the only fix is reloading your last save). - Camera clipping/falling through the world (everything turns black, nothing visible — happens often during combat). - Pathfinding issues: the character can’t find a route if you click too far away. - Drag-and-drop is janky: items in the inventory often move around on their own instead of going where you clicked. - The inventory itself feels pointless — why bother rearranging items if they just get randomly dumped back into your character’s inventory anyway? - If your target is standing in a pile of corpses, it’s almost impossible to click on them. - And in general, clicking on small objects — like a piece of paper on the floor — is way harder than it should be. I am changing this to positive only because developer answered, and I really hope they can finish this game! A...

When I play this game I have that great feeling of an old RPG and to be precise Arcanum which I really love. So far the setting, characters and the story all feels great. I hope it will be like this till the end

if you like old school RPG you would love new arc line. even though is early access, you will have plenty of side quests and mysteries to find around the city. performance is fine so far, but can always be improved. cant wait to continue on with the story.

Just fun in an old school sort of way. Love the combination of magic and steam punk.

Spiritual successor of Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. There is a lot to love here already, and I look forward to playing the full game when it releases.
