I regret missing my refund window. Overall the game is heavily focused on online multiplayer, however the netcode is less than ideal. The story mode is severely lacking content with the Chimera Ant Arc featuring a grand total of 3 fights. If you like hunter x hunter and you happen to be wealthy enough that this game wouldn't dent your bank account then I still wouldn't recommend it.

I think I stand with literally everybody else who left a negative review: The gameplay is FIRE. by far the most time and thought put into an eighting game mechanics-wise, cus this game is dense with what you can & can't do. However, as the netcode is as-of-today I genuinely cant justify spending money on it. I have 75hrs in the demo playing in training mode and on parsec, but after playing vs friends that live a block away from me and the game feeling worse than on parsec across-the-board, I'd reccomend waiting for a sale or waiting for the netcode to be in a more approachable state. I love this game, and want to love playing it but right now that just isn't the case :/
togashi the goat. Games fun!
From a gameplay Perspective despite all the hate and also ofc the Netcode game is actually really solid and I think we need more games that arent such a mainstream feel, this game actually has alot of creativity and differences between characters and such its actually pretty nice game doesnt look as bad as people also make it seem aswell, Ide recommend again for people that will actually play Fighting games not the ones who will just run away from them because theres no teamate to blame but Ide still say wait until the netcode gets better or if you can play local or on parsec its worth it in my opinion. but fair warning this game is as crazy as it gets...
I have been asking for a HxH fighting game for literally over a decade and this game has brought me great disappointment. All of the netcode issues aside, some characters are incredibly well designed such as Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, and Netero. All of those characters are very intuitively designed and clearly had love put into them. Netero, for example, plays very patient which is exactly how you would expect him to play. Then you get further down the roster and the some of the characters just had zero love put into their kit, they feel bland and they play like generic fighting game characters and not like the actual characters themselves. Chrollo and Kite are perfect examples of this. Kite literally only shoots and has a dodge roll. He literally only uses his scythe (the only other weapon he has in the game) in his ult and thats it. Chrollo has the exact same problem but he's all melee and only uses Bandit's Book in his ult. He never uses it otherwise in his kit, not even an ind...
This game is a mess. Featuring a hilariously borked game balance, messy netcode, and a frightening lack of content all for $60. So why in the world am I recommending this? Well, because despite its flaws, it is a very entertaining ride. If you can find this on sale, this is a great game to play with friends. The balance may be a mess, but it lends itself well to humorous exchanges, and other wacky shenanigans. If you're just looking to play a fighter with friends (or randoms), and aren't really in it for competition, this is a solid game for that. The lack of content is definitely apparent, and is the main reason I'd suggest waiting for a sale, however. Your singleplayer offerings are basically survival mode, or story mode with the budget anime game trademark of random stills from the anime itself. If you enjoy kusoge, this is probably the game for you... *after* a sale of course, as admittedly $60 is too much for this package.
Played the demo and gave it a chance to the full game, but man, just fix netcode and visuals. Make characters in-game to look the same to the character selection, with black border line, make em more anime/comic style and why it looks like in game they have some sort of blur? Make them look like ps3 old graphics. No graphic settings to adjust is wild.
Extremely fun fighting game at its core... but sadly, the netcode is a mess. It received an update to make it less of an SF5-esque mess of teleports, but it's still not entirely solved. BBTag is my favorite fighting game, and this game perfectly scratches the itch it's left me with ever since I was unable to continue playing that. I can play it with my friend offline when we spend time together, but I'd love to keep playing on my own through online and it's really frustrating that it doesn't feel like a worthwhile option. The price is pretty steep, but if you asked me if I'd find it worth it had they left us with a proper complete package (like, at least having reasonable netcode) then I'd tell you I wouldn't mind the price point whatsoever. I LOVED the game after trying the demo and was really looking forward to playing... but in its current state, it's best to consider it at another time. The game is genuinely the most fun I've had with a fighting game in SO LONG, but they really n...
Very crazy game. If you like chaos and bull crap, you will like this game.
