Tropico 5 is an absolute gem for city-building fans! As El Presidente, I’ve had a blast ruling my tropical paradise, balancing the needs of my citizens with my own ambitions. The vibrant visuals and catchy soundtrack pull you right into the Caribbean vibe. The campaign is engaging, with a fun mix of humor and strategy as you navigate through different eras, from colonial times to the modern age. The addition of trade routes and dynasty management adds such a fresh layer of depth compared to earlier titles. Multiplayer is a nice bonus, too—nothing beats outsmarting friends to build the ultimate island empire! Sure, it can feel a bit micromanage-y at times, but the charm and replayability make it so worth it. If you love strategy games with personality, Tropico 5 is a must-play!

For some reason I had way more fun in Tropico 4 overall but this one ain't that bad either. The balance in this one is a little off or at least it was when i did play it. It feels like they made it harder but didn't made it more fun.
Good game
A bit late with this as I've just watched the trailer for Tropico 7 but I really enjoy the time I spend on this game. For me, it's the perfect blend of city builder, quest driven game that hits multiple sweet spots. Am I good? Nope, i still struggle with normal stuff but the game can be pretty forgiving if you let it haha. It's fun and it's funny, challenging without being too harsh. You might learn some things as well. Great all around game and highly recommended.
it's better to play for the satirical comedy than for the city building if you're struggling make rum and cigars while also making an additional port
The best rendition of the franchise.
One of the most enjoyable modern iterations of the series. I personally prefer over Tropico 4 or 6.
A Very Cathartic Sim.
