About This Game

Step into the space between dreams.

Dreamcore is a psychological exploration game that immerses you in the haunting beauty of the largest liminal spaces ever created in a video game. With no guides, no direction, and no escape but the one you carve for yourself, the key lies in observation and intuition. Will you keep your bearings in a world designed to make you lose them?

Each environment is a vast, enigmatic labyrinth where every corner hides a mystery and every path bends the rules of reality. There are no monsters or jumpscares—only the eerie silence of abandoned places, the weight of solitude, and the creeping sensation that something is just beyond your perception.

With its grainy, dreamlike VHS-inspired visuals, Dreamcore captures the uncanny aesthetic of 1980s "Found Footage." Every detail, built in Unreal Engine 5, pulls you deeper into its eerie, otherworldly embrace.

Dreampools: A surreal maze of endless pools, dimly lit by artificial glow. The tiled walls glisten with reflections, amplifying the stillness of the water. No sound accompanies you but the distant drip of water and the echo of your own footsteps. Narrow hallways twist into grand, open chambers, interconnected without apparent logic. The dreamlike calm is absolute, yet the unease never fully fades—an unseen presence always lingers at the edges of your awareness.

Eternal Suburbia: A neighborhood frozen in an eerie, artificial tranquility. Row upon row of identical houses stretch into infinity, each façade a mirror of the last. But once inside, the illusion fractures—hallways loop into themselves, and the once-cozy interiors become an unsettling puzzle. Time flows in cycles of day and night, the warm hum of vintage jazz filling the air during daylight. Yet, instead of comfort, the melodies deepen the isolation. As dusk falls and the shadows stretch long, a single question takes root: are you truly alone in this place?

Playrooms: A sequence of spaces inspired by children’s play areas, recreated with an artificial and silent aesthetic. Throughout the map, you'll explore padded rooms, plastic castle structures, ball-filled corridors, netted tunnels, oversized blocks, and printed city carpets. Each area follows the logic of childhood entertainment, but stripped of functionality or human presence. There are no instructions, sounds, or clear direction—progression is entirely up to the player.

Every Level in Dreamcore is a standalone experience, offering a unique blend of exploration and atmosphere. New Levels will be added over time, expanding the game’s world. Early players will receive all subsecuent Maps at no extra cost.

I actually love this game, its perfectly eerie, and fulfills my urge to explore backrooms style landscapes. Very well done. I think the added feature of the feedback from the camera's angle is a plus too. makes it feel more real and authentic. I've successfully finished dreampools, working on suburbia, and I hope and can't wait for more maps! Thank you Dev's for a wonderful well-done game experience!

I'm fine with just wandering around liminal spaces (I loved Pools) but Dreamcore has made an art form of frustrating boredom. It gives you objectives to complete but doesn't tell you what they are. The way to complete them is to just walk around in circles for literally hours and hope you find the thing you need. Absolutely miserable experience and I genuinely can't fathom how anyone can claim to have enjoyed it. Get Pools, get Anemoiapolis, get any liminal space game except this one. The only thing you'll find in these backrooms is boredom.

Tried the demo. That had just about the right length and, in the end, the trailer led me to believe it could be something more than what the demo was: a walking/running simulator leading you through a series of disorienting spaces, corridors and rooms. To my disappointment, I have just spent 1 hour running and wadding through swimming pool rooms, with any anxiety induced by a possible horror twist from liminal spaces being replaced by an anxiety of not going anywhere. This last one is not as fun as the first one. Graphically, it is well done and I am sure people who enjoy this genre will definitely enjoy it. I am not one of them.

I'm sorry. I tried to like it, but after a while, there's no real game-play except running trying to see where to go, And there's nothing really interesting happening.

First off: I honestly don't think anyone who has played for under 3 hours, has actually /played/ this game. This isn't something you finish quickly, or enjoy fully if you rush through it. It's meant to be enjoyed and savored. TL;DR - **THIS IS A WALKING SIMULATOR!** You no likey Walking sims -- you no buy. Simple as that. For those who enjoy these game types - it's perfect for you - especially if you enjoy The Backrooms. ALL THE WORDS!: Dreamcore is a wonderful walking simulator that is perfectly creepy, and deliciously eerie. There are different levels for different backrooms lore. I personally was really tripped out by Endless suburbia since a lot of the layouts mimicked homes I've been in. Each level has its own little feel to it - and seems to advance in things you have to do to get out of each place. The pools, you just walk and get a flashlight, Suburbia you have two objectives, and then The Playrooms has several. I really liked that a lot. It didn't take away from...

When starting the game off the bat, your greeted by a pretty user-friendly ui, when starting up a map the gameplay its self seems smooth for high-end to mid-end computers could possibly run this on low-end pcs if you put the settings down, good feeling of horror without any actual jumpscares, this is one of the good psychological horror games in steam, check this game out if you like these type of games!

It's pretty good, although I enjoyed the demo much more than I did the full game. The demo suggested some sort of danger, and I was pretty anxious the whole time I was playing it. In the full game it's pretty clear it's just a maze, with no "minotaur" to speak of. It's a very atmospheric maze, and I had a decent enough time exploring it, but that's all there is to it. If you're expecting a horror game, you'll be quite disappointed, unless you're deathly afraid of getting lost. Then you'll be absolutely terrified. Especially in the Playrooms stage, which took me hours of stumbling around just randomly finding the stuff I needed to progress. I'd give it a thumbs down because of the disappointment in it not really being a horror game, but it's very well crafted and I still got enough enjoyment out of it, so thumbs up it is.

I am absolutely in love with this game, and I look forward to more levels! I have a few "complaints" but not at all to diss this lovely game or its creator(s). I just wish we could slide down the slides in the Dreampools level, and that there was more to the Playrooms level, as that one is my favorite - especially the maze rooms and toy rooms!! I would love to see more maze rooms and similar. I love anything that has tons of crawl spaces/tubes especially ones that lead to whole other rooms. I also would love if you could let us obtain a flashlight in all levels, as it gets super dark to where I can't see in certain areas- like the crawl tubes in the maze rooms leading to other rooms. Or the classic backrooms section of the Suburbia level. I hope to see more added to this game, it's so amazing! <3
