You know what's cool? Delta Force. You know what's not cool? The current IP owners turning it into a F2P slop title. There's your explanation for why this game exists and what it is. They do add a lot of new tactical shooter mechanics like leaning, an inventory system and suppression mechanics designed to scare the shit out of you when you get shot at. If you liked those games, the only thing you'll miss is the mission editor, but they're going to add that too. There are some negatives, for example the AI. They're dogshit stupid right now, only really capable of doing some basic activities like hiding in the grass, shooting at you, moving toward you and throwing smoke grenades. That can be fixed in due time and will be, so it's more of a temporary setback. The crunchy PS1 style graphics. They do just mean you can't fucking actually see 100 meters away without using your binoculars. If it wasn't for the forced pixelation, the game would just objectively be better. Nostalgiac, low p...

About the Game
You are a member of Task Force Dagger, an elite international special forces unit. Your missions take you across the globe—through frozen coasts, dense jungles, and war-torn cities. In Dagger Directive, tactical freedom is everything: pick your loadout, choose the time of day, and decide whether to strike hard and fast or move like a ghost.
Every mission is yours to shape.
Fight across three full campaigns, each set in a distinct region with its own atmosphere, enemies, and tactical challenges. Disrupt an eco-terrorist operation in the frigid Bering Sea. Battle organized crime across the volatile South Pacific. Crush an extremist uprising in Eastern Europe.
Each mission offers a different tactical sandbox, with objectives you can approach from multiple angles.
Gear up from a robust arsenal of 25+ weapons, each customizable with a wide range of attachments. Whether you're breaching doors with an underbarrel shotgun, clearing angles with suppressed SMGs, or picking off targets at extreme range, the armory has you covered. Supplement your firepower with drones, tripwires, grenades, and mines, and experiment with combinations that suit your style.
Dagger Directive blends modern game feel with grounded mechanics. Every bullet and piece of shrapnel has weight, velocity, and trajectory—simulated in real time. Adjust your scope for distance, lead moving targets, and respect the chaos of ricochets. Even grenades scatter deadly fragments that obey real physics.
This isn’t just spray and pray—it’s precision under pressure.
Each mission takes place in a large open area with multiple entry points, dense foliage, and tactical verticality. Control the environment by shooting out lights, hiding in tall grass, or stalking through shadows. Select the time of day before each op—just don’t forget your NVGs if you’re going in after dark.
The battlefield is a tool, if you know how to use it.
EARLY ACCESS CONTENT
The Early Access version of Dagger Directive is already packed with depth and variety:
A 15-mission campaign that spans all three global theaters, offering replayability through multiple tactical approaches.
Full co-op multiplayer, so you and your squad can coordinate, flank, and execute missions together.
Over 25 weapons, dozens of attachments, and a wide variety of tactical gear—already giving you the tools to play your way.
A broad range of tactical equipment including deployable drones, anti-personnel mines, and multiple grenade types, adding layers of strategic options.
COMING IN FUTURE UPDATES
Post-launch development will expand both depth and customization:
A mission editor with full Steam Workshop support, allowing players to build and share their own operations.
An expanded tutorial system that dives deeper into advanced weapons, tools, and stealth mechanics.
A powerful Free Play Mode, where players can spawn enemies, allies, vehicles, and gear to experiment or create their own combat scenarios.
Modding support for weapons and gear, empowering the community to add entirely new content to the sandbox.

User Reviews
I'm aware this game is still under development and that it's meant to simulate the deep-behind-enemy-lines special forces type guys (after its spiritual ancestor, Delta Force) but you've got to be kidding me with some of these maps and setups. A night stealth map with tanks that can spot me anyways? Maps where I have to traverse thousands of meters, and have to repeat the process to kill a hidden grunt? Suppression so bright it flashbangs you on desert maps? I hate to do this but currently I'll have to give a dislike until this game's many, many problems are ironed out. I feel like once you get into the later levels (the Kumov ones) you're basically playing RNG trying to avoid tanks and their scanners. Not a fan of that. The AI is also comically Terminator-Stormtrooper, able to find where your shots are from miles away but unable to hit you at any range unless if by pure luck.
Game requires more patience than Arma 3, land vehicles would be nice instead of walking 5-10 minutes to each objective.
I am a 42 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for as a gift, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just, watching YouTube. So i decided to get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. loaded into the game, made my character and started playing but I was stuck on what you were supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. loved it as it was the best time had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy...
One of my first PC gaming experiences was when my marine step-dad introduced me to Delta Force. I used to play those games every day after school for hours, and talk with him about how to approach different scenarios. This game brings back all those nostalgia feelings back in the best way. Sure could the AI be smarter, sure could the levels could probably have 100 improvements if you sat there and dissected them. But man this takes me back to early 2000s in the best way, pure fun.
So, I played for 2 hours. I like the game very much (so far). It is another example of how gameplay trumps graphics, at least in FPS games. I have decided to stop playing this game, until the performance is better. I am aware that this is a game in early access... I am struggling to get a solid 60FPS with my 3060TI. To make matters worse, the in game video settings are bugged, and it keeps reverting the settings ever time I drop them down. This is ok, for now; it's an EA game. I am looking forward to returning to play, when I hear that this performance is augmented somewhat. I am excited for the future of this game, I grew up playing games like this, and love them. If you do to, buy the game, so the devs can afford to get on and finish it. These games are a dying breed...
Not worth it for the state it's in. AI is not engaging, maps are barren with great stretches of walking in between objectives. Along the way of these hikes there is nothing going on, just a straight walk over. Quite disappointing as the demo was rather promising
If you grew up in the golden days of NovaLogic, you’ll feel right at home with Dagger Directive. The game feels like a love letter to Delta Force 1 & 2, Task Force Dagger, Land Warrior, and of course Joint Operations: Combined Arms Gold. Even Delta Force: Xtreme fans will find familiar DNA here: massive outdoor maps, long-range engagements, and that unique “sandbox military sim” feeling that NovaLogic pioneered before the modern tactical shooter craze. The first thing that hits you is the scale. The maps are huge, stretching out endlessly like those old NovaLogic battlefields where you could literally crawl through tall grass for half an hour just to set up the perfect sniper shot. They’ve nailed that sense of freedom. At the same time, the maps can feel a bit too empty at times. There’s a lot of space, but not always enough life filling it. Still, that wide-open emptiness adds to the tension, because you never know when the next patrol or vehicle might roll across the field....
20 dollars is too much for the state the AI is in.
Big miss on Dagger Directive. The jank is just too hard to avoid.
Avoid Dagger Directive until the developer can sort the game out. Currently, not even worth the $15. 1. The missions are boring - they do not compare to Novalogic quality. You walk long distances through a lifeless map then encounter deadly, laser-sharp AI on small, isolated objectives. The missions are forgettable, not engaging, and not immersive. The lack of friendly AI is odd - even Delta Force had AI team mates that were synchronized with your movement, so the missions felt more immersive. Dagger Directive has none of that. Also worth mentioning that the game has a limited number of missions that have very little re-playability. Sure, you can "approach each mission in your own way" but the design leaves little room for creativity as the objectives are all isolated from each other. 2. The AI is terrible. The enemy AI know your exact location and have pin-point accuracy. There is no suppress...
