About This Game

Typing Bullets is an endless typing action game, where you move and shoot by typing the key you are on. Each new word you jump on will also shows you its definition. So you can improve your vocabulary and get better at typing at the same time. Fight enemies based on keyboard keys, collect upgrade points to customize your playthroughs and get a high score! If this sounds like something you would like, give the game a try. I hope you like it.

Features

  • Fight unique enemies, all based on keyboard keys, like the Shift enemy that will rotate the platforms; the Control enemy that shoots bullets at you; the Pause enemy that creates an area that slows your bullets down; and many others.
  • Use different weapons: from homing missiles, to lasers, shotguns and even a lightning gun.
  • Fun respawn mechanic: when your HP reaches zero, a quiz will appear with the words you have typed during your current run. Answer correctly and you can continue your playthrough.
  • Customize your runs with over 500 upgrades. From increasing your total ammo count, to adding more seconds to the death quiz timer, the upgrade system lets you experience Typing Bullets the way you want.
  • Activate slow motion and make use of special haste areas to increase your fighting capabilities.
  • Practice your typing skills and learn new words with a word list of tens of thousands of words.

NOTES

A very important note on the words that may appear in the game: games should be enjoyed by everybody, and so I did my best to remove all the bad and hateful words that I could find. I am aware that I might have missed some, so if you do find words that fit that criteria, such as words that are misogynistic, racist, xenophobic, transphobic, homophobic, offensive to ethnicities or offensive to religions, or in any other way affect you emotionally or trigger emotional trauma, please let me know and I will do my best to remove these words and their definitions as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding.

Play here: https://youtu.be/mgdfEeTmsqU overall I liked the game it's a little cramped at first, but when you read the tutorial basically you pick upgrades that are bouncing and fight evil blocks. The quiz mechanic is pretty dope and educational because some of the words you're typing are spicy it's a pretty good educational game concept. My only two main complaints are the fact we don't have an end goal i.e. achievements or leaderboard besides your own personal score and the font is a bit tough I also wish there was a bit more of a space between words as well as it would make the game feel less cramped and I would know where the word began and ended instead of being like oh I'm not moving anymore there is little yellow particles but when you trying to go fast it's a little bit less noticable than a good old quality space inbetween words.

Cool concept, but my main problems are: 1. The text is hard to read, and that is not only because of the effects on the screen but also the font, its just very hard to discern words especially when you are trying to type fast. 2. The only thing you can focus on is the words, so you can't really tell what is going on on the rest of the screen, because you have to read the words while typing which are at the bottom of the screen. 3. I assume there is a single dictionary of words, it would be cool if you could choose between multiple dictionaries, like top 100/1000/10000 English words used. 4. The mechanic of asking what the meaning of the word is is kinda bad, it goes against the concept of typing faster, because you're not going to read the explanation of the words while typing, unless you're probably typing really slowly. Overall a cheap nice game, but that's about it. I can't find myself playing this much because it's just annoying to speed type.

a fun typing bullets game if you like this genre a lot of thing happen on screen and there's a lot upgrades to unlock, but unfortunately have some technical error that breaks the immersion, i was playng for some minuts and out of nowhere the game start to run slowly and lost a lot of performace that i had to restart the game, and the second atempt to play the game a error happend. Hard to find good typing games, this is great though. I average around 120wpm and I'm always trying to get better, though at this speed it's hard to tell if I'm doing anything that's actually strategic in the game or the fact that I'm typing just makes the game scroll further. Lots of feelgood pixel effects and a soundtrack that vibes. I ran into a Lua error on what looks like a Blue Screen of Death once but other than that, it's a cool game that lets your fingers dance!

I type words

Misdirected game dev talent. A really satisfying game with a lot of cool effects and a sprawling metaprogression system but all built atop a flimsy core gameplay loop. You type words. There's a whole lot of other shit going on while you type words, but really the best way to play without getting completely distracted by the slew of other things is to just type the words as you see them. Some of the effects are super cool, particularly one that makes the whole screen pop up satisfyingly. There's tons of game juice, but it's all put into this core game loop that just isn't fun. Unlike BYTEPATH (which I'm guessing this was inspired by), there is very little room for distinct builds when all you're really paying attention to is typing words because that's all you really can pay attention to. It's cheap and satisfying, but just isn't a very good game at its core. However I am curious to see what the developer creates next, because they clearly have a lot of talent!
