Old but gold. Payday 2 has more content but 1 still has the grounded gameplay and all weapons pack a punch: no crouch jumping around and no "bad" weapons at higher difficulty.

When I was around 13 or 14, I used to pirate this game—not something I'm proud of. But I loved it so much that I promised myself I’d buy it someday, when I could make money by myself. Just last week, that promise resurfaced in my brain, and now I finally own the game with my own money. All those childhood memories came flooding back. While Payday 2 might be technically better (let’s not even bring up Payday 3), it just doesn’t have the same soul, vibe, and charm this game holds. Honestly, I’m really happy to finally own it!

so hear me out. pd2 good as live service or smth like that (comparing to similar games) but pd1 is damn good as small compact game like l4d or killing floor where borders of avaliable content is more than perceptible... just a bit more heists and this game would be perfect for me

Every player I come across to in this game is either Neil Mccauley or a depraved furry, 10/10.
I underestimated this game.
Initially, I bought this game along with a DLC to get extra heists in Payday 2. After the purchase, the game sat in my library for about a year (or even longer), waiting for its moment. I can't say I was itching to play it; the graphics and clunky animations I'd seen in YouTube videos turned me off. But as I was finishing up Payday 2, I decided to give this game a chance. I was incredibly surprised by how wrong I was about the project. The graphics look fine, the animations are good, and the gameplay is also interesting and different from the sequel. I got to know a still-active part of the game's community and it was quite interesting to compare it to Payday 2. Most players stick with this game because it's harder, more interesting, or they simply prefer the OST more than in Payday 2. I personally fall somewhere in the middle. I enjoyed both games and had a great time playing them. [b]I am also very grateful to [url=https://steamcommunity.com/p...

PAYDAY: The Heist may lack alot of the content its sequel has. However it's more then makes up for it with the being consistent in it's vision. Where as PAYDAY 2 became a bloated mess overtime and PAYDAY 3 is... PAYDAY 3. PAYDAY: The Heist has a clear vision as a hardcore co-op shooter whist being a tribute to action heist movies from the 2000's. For that alone it is my favorite in the series, and i implore to give it a try yourself. The heists themselves may be in PAYDAY 2 but it doesn't capture the same vibe this game had in the first place.

PAYDAY: The Heist is a cooperative first-person shooter that plunges players into the gritty world of high-stakes criminal robbery. Developed by Overkill Software and released on Steam in 2011, this game quickly earned a cult following for its emphasis on teamwork, tactical planning, and intense action sequences. While it might not boast the polish or scale of modern AAA shooters, PAYDAY: The Heist laid the groundwork for what would become a hugely successful franchise, combining fast-paced gunplay with the suspense and chaos of orchestrated crime. At its core, the game is all about cooperation. Players form a four-person crew of hardened criminals, each taking on one of several distinct classes—such as the Technician, Ghost, Enforcer, or Mastermind—each with unique abilities and skills that complement team dynamics. This class-based system encourages strategic planning before and during each heist, as players coordinate their roles to handle everything from crowd control and hack...

Really based game that contains my favorite era of atmosphere in digital media. It takes itself more seriously than the 2nd installment despite some of the old design tropes. The heists are really fun and they have general replayability depending on the challenges you set yourself to as well as playing with online friends. The Diamond Heist is really fun to do due to it's stealth route, it is quite dependent on RNG so it requires some patience but I honestly love it. No Mercy is God. This game is also pretty decent for lower end pc's which was what got me into payday back then, I decided to play it again after multiple years. Problem is that mini pc's like Geekom's Mini IT13 are falsely advertised for being powerful so despite having a good session it just randomly blew up in the middle of a heist and died on the spot. It was a valuable lesson about mini pc's. DorHUD is preferable.
