About This Game

A Whisper in the Twilight is a first person Mystery/Sci-Fi/Puzzle game. A wholly unique player experience, aiming to reinvent the single-player genre.

If you want to immerse yourself in the story before playing, we recommend you read/download for free the short graphic novel that serves as a prologue to this adventure directly from the game's official website:

The game will be released in ten self-contained Chapters.
"CHAPTER ONE: THE JOURNEY BEGINS" is the first one.

The concept of A Whisper in the Twilight began with a dream. The colonized moon of Hippalectryon is at war. The Zharatians, a violent cult of zealots have captured vast territories.

The player character Zory hails from an ancient tribe known as The Skywatchers. She is one of the last of her kind. She must now save her sister and defeat a dictator.

The game is based on a strong narrative component, which relies heavily on player immersion and environmental details. The player will need to solve puzzles, discover clues, and evade danger to succeed.

You will interact with exotic plants, animals, archaic artifacts... you will explore parallel dimensions... and you will transfer your inner spirit into alien creatures.

The world of Hippalectryon is rich with lore and intrigue. You must unlock the Mechanical Arcana to prevail. Techo-merchants, mysteries, lost powers, and dangerous creatures await...

Ok. First twenty minutes into this game and my first review here on Steam. The story seems very interesting and above all original. The Sound Design is simply impeccable and completely transports the mind into the game world. The Voice Acting is also excellent (personally I pay a lot of attention to this aspect in games because I am a Voice Actor myself). The graphics are excellent and for now I appreciate the Level Design, also this rather original. It is clear that there has been a considerable "manual" work. I run the game on Win 11, 32 Giga RAM. The loadings are fast and fluid. Nothing to say about it. The negative aspect, for now, is only one: it is not possible to set the mouse speed, which I personally find slightly too fast. For now I give a five-star rating, but I reserve the right to change my opinion if the game does not maintain these premises. I will update this review as soon as I have acquired more gaming experience.

A short but VERY engaging story unfolds here in the first chapter. I admit I got a little stumped but that's part of the experience. I was looking for something to scratch that itch since myst and quern, and this does a good job! Btw, the creepy part did terrify me XD

Woof. The game starts Steam VR and begins with a video just info dumping on you. I click to try and close Steam VR (I'm not using VR) and it skips the opening sequence. Now the game is in the wrong resolution. It also has serious screen tearing but has no video options and the menu button locations are incorrect. Restart and now it's in the right resolution but still terrible screen tearing. You follow a lady for 3 minutes while she expositions at you, then enter a room, the room shifts between well lit and complete blackness. Then you encounter a robot who expositions at you while you sway like a drunken sailor for some reason. Then the game starts. Unlike Myst and Myst-like games, you are not in a well lived in world, you're in a empty world with game assets placed occasionally. You kinda skate around loosely and climb ladders at 1/100 MPH and go between huts that are pitch black inside and an empty well lit outside. The game then soft-locks the in the inventory screen. All of this i...
