About This Game

In WitchHand, you use cards to build your empire of witches. Maximize the production of your villages and use your resources strategically to upgrade and expand. Focus on trade, alchemy research, or war in order to secure your coven's place amongst the Council of Fates, influencing the destiny of all. Work with your neighbors to secure a better future or crush them and use their bones to fuel your spells. When the witching hour comes each night, your witch's powers are at their strongest, while unseen forces work against you. You must expand and manage your coven to new heights if you are to withstand the coming darkness. No rest for the wicked.

A CIVILIZATION OF WITCHES

WitchHand folds the 4X strategy formula into card-based gameplay. You'll perform strategic actions like exploring, expanding, and exterminating through real-time card placement. Manage worker placement, village production, and research in order to advance the strength and reach of your coven.

WIELD THE POWERS OF THE WITCHES OF THE REALMS

Each witch has a unique selection of spells, buildings, and units that defines them. Empower your villages and production with the Celestial Witch. Overpower your enemies with the might of the Chaos Witch. Cook delicious, stat-boosting meals with the Chef Witch. Choose the witch that best suits your playstyle and have full control over your research paths to further personalize your playthrough.

EXPLORE THE MYSTERIES OF THE NINTH

The Council of Fates does not have faith in your expedition to the Ninth. Make alliances with rival factions or declare war and take their resources for your own. Manage your relationships through trade and gifts or with a well-placed fireball spell. Grow your coven to new heights and prove the Council wrong.

FEATURES:

🧭 Explore the Ninth Realm to discover new sites for your villages, necessary reagents to fuel your spells, and clues to the mystery of the Ninth's sudden appearance.

šŸ˜ļø Expand your coven by building new villages, perfecting production, and trading with the local factions.

šŸ”„ Exterminate the beasts of the void, whose relentless assaults on your coven jeopardize your mission.

šŸ§™ā€ā™€ļø Choose the witch to lead your coven, each with unique spells and playstyles.

āŒ› Impress the Council of Fates and benefit from their powerful boons.

šŸ•Šļø Peaceful Mode - The option to play without the constant threat of extinction.

If Stacklands took the Cultist Simulator formula and made it less cryptic, less magical and less dark - and with less depth - WitchHand takes Stacklands and adds magic back, but replaces the British Eldritch Darkness with Pink Witch Whimsy and lays off the cryptic stuff; and as much as I loved cracking the mysteries of the Mansus, in this case it's good riddance. See, WitchHand's focus is city building/survival, not decoding forbidden lore. Which is not to say that the lore is entirely without mysteries, but figuring it out is not going to grant you some kind of secret power. It's just there if you like to think about the stuff while you move cards around and ponder [strike]the orb[/strike] your next move. And there is plenty to ponder. There are monsters about, and your witch can die, which ends the game; in the beginning you'll only fight an occasional stray mob you meet during exploration, but eventually the Void will mobilise against you and will start sending periodic attack par...

To anyone having played stackIands, this is pretty much the same thing, with a magic theme added to it. The art is pretty cute, and I liked both the theme and atmosphere. But the game is extremely grindy, and there is nothing satisfying to reward you for your efforts. The cards design quickly becomes a chore, and as everything grows it becomes more and more annoying. The dev noticed this, so a lot of your new spells you'll unlock through grinding will improve your quality of life, and you'll be thankful that the game is a little less of a chore. I think this is a wrong take on magic. I think magic should take you to new heights that you could barely imagine before; not making the game a chore on purpose, with magic being a few qol patches which should have been a default. Please don't design games as annoying just to give the illusion of content. The game also give the choice of different characters to start with, and they seem nice, but I can't see why I'd bother going through almost ...

This game is a merge game but with cards and an exponential growth system of networks that are engaging in their design. The art is well done and the music is relaxing. I definitely think this game is worth picking up if you enjoy merge games, card games, or exponential growth builders. There are some accessibility changes that could be made, like having the ability to pause/speed up/slow down time. There is *sort of* a way to do this now, but a set of buttons in the corner with shortcuts would be amazing. There's nothing flashy on screen, but the cards shake if the stacks get too big/close together which may be aversive for some. The text that tells you what things are on the top right can be a bit in the way and intrusive while also being hard to read if things are moving. The windowed/borderless/etc sometimes changes settings on you for no reason, but you can cycle through to get it back to what you want. The polish for this game could be better in terms of UI, but overall t...
