About This Game

About

'Crushing Depths' is a first-person physiological horror game, from the perspective of an underwater remote control drone. Explore the vast ocean floor while using 3D spatial sound to locate objectives (a no-sound option is available). The story will unfold as you progress with plenty of hidden mysteries to discover in the depths below!

Story

The year is 1996. It has been over 30 years since five mysterious alien crafts landed on Earth. Unbeknownst to humanity, these crafts were sentinels, sent by a dying race to find a new home. The sentinels were designed to grow, observe, and eventually wipe out any opposing life forms, before the arrival of their creators.

After several mysterious events out to sea, deep down on the ocean floor, a research team has been put together to figure out what's happening. The team has deployed a number of sound-emitting beacons at specific locations that have had a lot of activity, as picked up by underwater recording stations placed years ago by the military. The team has deployed an underwater reconnaissance drone to locate these beacons and to report back its findings with its onboard sensor array and a camera that transmits live feedback to the team for observation.

Features

  • Use 3D spatial sounds to locate objectives (option for non-spatial sound use available)
  • Control an underwater drone
  • Vast ocean floor to explore & secrets to find!

What will you discover?

How to play Step 1: Press w for nearly 10 minutes and then read some words. Step 2: Turn around and press w for another 10 minutes and read more words. Step 3: refund the game because you realize it's boring.

Played on Linux using Proton Exp, Very boring Game and was falling a sleep while playing, Basically just head towards the beacons, after 2 beacons you start getting knocked by something, you do see an Octopus at one point and that's all the underwater life you will see, After a set amount of Beacons you die and game over. Graphics are low poly and the ground is just red, more like being on mars then underwater, So very basic Graphics, Sound is just Engine Noise and Beacon beeps, game play is go to first beacon, then auto scans, go to second beacon then game auto scans, etc, etc for about 20 to 25 minutes, that's how long the game is, if you go searching for the Achievements then it will take longer. Did not see anything scary while playing, the one and only underwater life the Octopus might make you jump, might!! Not Recommended unless you what to fall a sleep.

It was ok. It's a very short (~30m) underwater experience with simple mechanics.
