Takes the vampire survivor like formula and makes it level based side scrolling 2D. You have a set amount of levels instead of a timer, and power ups like an arcade shooter. It has some unpolished features currently and some hicups, but nothing gamebreaking so far I've experienced. I'm a bit worried how grindy it is, but I'm only an hour into the game so I can't say much. If you're looking for another good entry into the bullet heaven genre, this one is it. I usually dislike exploding/ranged enemies, but a mixture of jumping and dashing makes it actually enjoyable weaving through attacks. There's also some times where I pick HP instead of meta currency when I have leveled up everything. Game doesn't require you to unlock half the meta progression to get through the second difficulty, and I think that's where it really shines. Too many in this genre see meta progression as the blocker for pushing the casual player forward. People want to see more levels, more bosses, more enemies and ...

Really enjoyed playing this game, i have 13hrs in total so far in the game and only encountered one bug where i got trapped in a elevator but i just quit game to reset the level. Also i have completed all the tasks to unlock everything and completed all stages given to us so far, runs really well, game play is smooth and i see this game having alot of potential. i still need to grind the game to upgrade the base upgrades for the 3 types of currency however its early days to see if they make events/ daily challenges to help get more currencies. All in summary its a great game and i would recommend to give it a try and cant wait to see what they add further down the line.

Update - 42 hours in and can't go a day without playing it despite having unlocked everything. While this game felt simple and awkward on the surface, it really pays off to immerse yourself in it. It handles, looks, and sounds great. I seldom buy games over $10 but this one was just barely over that and very much worth it. Try the demo and then get addicted like I did, sounds like there is a lot more to come after EA is done.

I don't know how or why but the games not as good as the demo I had. I loved the vampire survivor style wave game play and upgrades. This has changed to a level based game play that I didnt want plus it now runs like s***. I'll wait and hopefully it gets better.

I am a big fan of the "survivors" genre with my favorites being Halls of Torment, Yet Another Zombie Survivors, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, along with Scarlet Tower and Death Must Die, and a few others. Adrenaline Rampage, basically, follows the traditional survivors structure (collect increasingly powerful power ups and evolve them to survive while gaining currency that the player spends on permanent upgrades) but adds a refreshing angle, side-scrolling platformer. I usually prefer the more traditional survivors trope of a large, open arena with a "survive for 30 minutes" structure. But the wave- and level-based design of Adrenaline Rampage works for with the side-scrolling perspective. Even at this early stage of of EA, the game works well and feels good. There is something here. I find it engaging and will continue playing it throughout development. Feels like it could turn into a future "must have" for fans of the genre.

I was a big fan of Fatalzone so I picked this up even though it's a side-scroller which I traditionally don't like. This game is great! Easy to pickup and non-stop action. Shoot, jump, and dash through wave after wave of enemies. Choose your upgrades wisely and use resources to upgrade your characters. Looking forward to more content for this game. At this price point just buy it, you'll enjoy it, and you will be supporting an awesome developer!
