About the Game

The Beginning of it All.

A remake of the 2004 game METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER, with the same gripping story and engrossing world, now with all new graphics and 3D audio that enhance the jungle atmosphere. Get ready for the ultimate survival stealth action experience.

The Cold War Crisis that started it all
In the middle of the Cold War, Naked Snake, the man who would later be known as Big Boss, infiltrates the Soviet Union to escort a defecting scientist, Sokolov. However, the mission ends in failure when Snake's mentor—The Boss, a soldier known as the mother of special forces—betrays him, and Sokolov is captured by Colonel Volgin of the GRU.

One week later, Snake returns to Soviet territory to rescue Sokolov and eliminate The Boss—a mission that will mark the start of a new legend, a mission that will mark the start of a new legend, against the backdrop of the ever-changing march of history.

Everything you love, and more
The story, characters, voice acting, gameplay, and music that made the original a sensation return, remade for modern consoles. This evolutionary leap breathes new life into every cutscene, and rebuilds every corner of the world.

Gorgeously rendered graphics
With Unreal Engine 5, expansive stages are rendered with cutting-edge technology. Incredible new graphics bring the wild growth of the jungles, forests, and swamps to life in exquisite detail. Characters are rendered in such fine detail that facial wrinkles, pores, and even separate eye and iris movements are visible, allowing for rich and emotive facial animations.

Authentic to life portrayals
The battle damage system has been upgraded, with the wear and tear of Snake's clothes, as well as bruises and bullet wounds on his body, reflected in real time. Injuries will leave their mark on Snake's body permanently, telling a story of each player's unique journey through the game.

Deeply immersive experiences
Players can elect for a newly added, more modern control style. These intuitive controls let you focus entirely on the game, and the immersive thrills of the survival stealth experience. You can also choose to play with a classic control style that more closely recreates the feel of the original game.

Additional Game Modes

*FOX HUNT scheduled for release in Fall 2025.

・SNAKE VS MONKEY
In this mode, you'll play as Snake, and round up all the escaped apes running amok in each stage!

・FOX HUNT
An all-new online multiplayer mode, set in the same world as the main story. This new mode makes use of stealth and survival elements to deliver exciting hide-and-seek-style back-and-forth gameplay.

・Secret Theater
Find 8mm film canisters, secretly carried by enemy soldiers, to unlock these humorous takes on certain scenes. You can find scenes from the original Secret Theater, as well as newly created videos.
*Secret Theater will be unlocked after finishing the game.
*Film canisters carried by soldiers can be collected during initial playthrough.

・GUY SAVAGE Δ
The "Guy Savage" nightmare game returns in a fully reimagined version that captures the essence of the original while providing a fresh new look from PlatinumGames. Trigger the nightmare sequence during gameplay or clear the entire story mode to unlock it as a bonus mode.
*GUY SAVAGE Δ will be unlocked after finishing the game.

An improvement in some instances but a downgrade in others... Pros: - Cool new graphics. - CQC/Martial arts are now easier to execute with less misinputs. - Camos can be equipped using the d-pad instead of pausing the game - New AI that are more responsive - Improved Gun-handling - Very faithful to the original story wise - Original voice cast - They bought back Cynthia Harrell to sing a new version of snake eater and it’s REALLY GOOD. She’s still got it. - Clearer audio (easier to hear voices over other noises) Cons: - Expensive $116-131 AUD. - Noticeable audio clipping in some cutscenes. - Some sound effects are way too quiet like knocking on wall surfaces. - Martial arts system is slower for some reason? Snake's 3 hit combo isn't as fast as in the OG snake eater. - Cover system is clunkier and frequently results in accidentally being seen because you don't snap to it as quickly as you do in the original. - Sight-lines are inconsistent, sometimes guards see you too easily to ...

MGS DELTA is a safe, almost a 1:1 remake for sure. But being a game that is also one of a kind (in being overly specific more than anything) and incredibly hard to replicate, I do understand KONAMI. I don't really see how else it could have happened. While 1:1 reconstruction is a merit and an achievement on its own, it's important to note how extraordinarily well MGS3 uses the videogame medium; if it weren't for Kojima et al.'s meticulous attitude, this simply couldn't have been achieved. In other words, if you are indeed the average of the five people you spend your time with, MGS DELTA could not have been achieved without the original team and would have been doomed to mediocrity, even if Konami dared to expand upon the original and even if built in-house. That is not meant as an excuse, however. I would truly have appreciated it if there were new "small" QoL features, like being able to loot enemies without actually holding them and waiting for the animation, and/or ledge takedowns...

Does the game look good? Yes. Does the game play well? Yeah. Is this a faithful remake? Yep. Does it change the fact that it's way too overpriced for a 1:1 remake, and very unoptimized? No, and people will buy and praise it anyways, giving game companies absolutely no incentive to optimize their product. I have a computer that's perfectly capable of running the game on high settings (with some occasional drops), but I'm not going to pretend it's a non issue. Honestly those issues would be a bit more excusable if the game was 2/3 of its current price. Have some self-respect and wait for a sale or any other perfectly legal way to get the game if you don't want to reward Konami for laziness.

We are in 2025 and the game doesn’t support ultra wide monitor and another u5 game with bad optimisation.

As a still image the game looks great. This it the limit though, once you start moving it falls apart, Struggle to keep a solid 60fps. the ghosting with any motion on scenes is genuinely distracting (Crawling it can be very noticeable) The movement animations just feel like the default move set from UE5 and it feels too fast and snappy, not like it has any weight. Looks worse than MGS5 - GZ or PP. UE5 is going to kill the modern generation of games
Tread Carefully... It Runs Like Doo Doo 💩
I grew up with Snake Eater and it hurts to say this, but this version is rough. Performance issues, stutters and poor optimization make it hard to recommend right now. It feels like the game was rushed out the door without the care such a classic deserves, and that’s a huge letdown. If you're not relying on nostalgia, you’ll find that under the surface, it often plays like a relic, not a remake, so proceed with caution before diving in.
The Good
[b] 1) The visuals are breathtaking. From mud-slicked foliage to Snake’s expressive model, things look incredible. 2) Classic story, familiar beats, and voice acting are intact, preserving the emotional weight for fans. 3) Modernized control modes and quality of life improvements help ease some of the old gameplay quirks.
The Ugly (or Really Rough)
[b] 1) Performance is a serious problem, even top-tier PCs (RTX 5090, 9800X3D) suffer stutters and locked 6...

Snake Eater is a classic, one of the absolute best games on PS2. And what do we get here? A shot-for-shot remake where Konami literally had the easiest job in the world. The blueprint is flawless: the cutscenes are already directed, the script is written, the characters are legendary, and the gameplay has been tested and proven for 20 years. All they had to do was make it run properly. Guess what? They blew it. Performance is an absolute disaster. Meanwhile, Kojima made a game that looked a full generation ahead, gave us a real open world, and ran at 1440p/60 on the base PS5. No excuses. And then Konami has the nerve to slap a 80–90€ price tag on what is basically a remaster with broken performance? That’s not just disappointing, it’s insulting. And you even dare say that if this sells, you'll remake other games? With this level of quality and this kind of scam pricing? Don’t be shocked when this thing flops. A 2025 game made with Unreal Engine 5, but with animations stra...

OH NO NOT ME I NEVER LOST CONTROL YOU'RE FACE TO FACE WITH THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WOOORLDD Introsu müthiş böyle bir intro yok.

I still remember the very first time I played the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It was January 5th, 2012, winter, and it was freezing outside. After coming back from school, I had nothing to do at home. We were poor, so for fun, I usually just hung out or played cricket sometimes. That day I went to my neighbor’s place, and his mom had just bought him a PS2 and with it, a game I had never even heard of before, Snake Eater. The moment the game booted up and that music hit, it felt like stepping into a completely new world. We were just kids, yet the jungle, the tension, and Snake’s story pulled us in like nothing else ever had. We fought over the controller, laughing and sulking when one of us lost our turn. Time disappeared fast. Hours vanished like seconds. Outside, the cold wind blew, but inside that small room, the two of us were lost in Kojima’s vision. Back then we didn’t have the internet, social media or any endless distractions here. We only had time, frie...

Legendary game. Garbage optimazation. I dont understand how you had the most impressive physics engine for it's time and completely discard it for unreal 5. I have a 4070 and it's sub 40 fps on medium. Seriously, get your shit straight, you cant charge 70 dollars and then refuse to do the bare minimum when MGS5 is a decade old and looks near identical to this game in quality and runs amazing on even the most outdated hardware. Disappointed to say the least. Hoping they address this soon.
