Veil of Darkness is an eerie, atmospheric gem from the early PC horror era that still holds up, mostly. I loved this game when I briefly played it in the '90s and revisiting it now feels like opening a haunted time capsule. The graphics, music, sound design & overall aesthetic still drip w/ gothic charm, making it a standout in its genre. That said, the controls haven’t aged well - clunky and often awkward, especially in isometric movement - but they’re not game-breaking, just frustrating at times. With a remaster or even a light modern tweak, this could absolutely shine again. As it stands, it’s a flawed but fascinating classic worth experiencing.
