Like other players mentioned in their negative reviews, I also experienced constant crashes and frequent freezing. But even without these technical issues, my review would still be the same. As a fan of Sherlock Holmes games, I can say that Crimes and Punishments has some well-designed and interesting cases. However, unlike the others in the same series, this game lacks tension. In Crimes and Punishments, Holmes is rarely in life-or-death situations (only for a few short moments), which makes the game feel flat, basically just two dudes "calmly" solving cases without any pressure; this really destroyed my experience. Personally, I would recommend Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter. Even though its cases aren’t as clever, the story is much more engaging to follow.

as someone who loved reading doyle's stories about sherlock's cases i found myself quickly engaged by this game. it was everything i imagined a good detective game to be. strange cases, smart deductions, and of course sherlock's typical move to tell someone's character by inspecting small details of their appearences, truly a work of art. also loved the dostoyesvky reference!!!

It is interesting to solve the cases but some cases have strange/wrong conclusions as the right ones (the clues found in those cases do not exactly point towards a certain conclusion but still it is correct as per the game).

A great way to experience the world of Sherlock Holmes with inspiration drawn from characters and instances from the books without being just a direct re-telling. I enjoy the stories and the game play, I found the unique systems and user interface of this game quite easy to follow. I did have a problem with Watson sinking knee deep into the ground in the second case, but this seems to be an odd occurrence that does not inhibit John from following you and moving to a new area usually puts him back on his feet. Overall a great game and worth a play through if you enjoy the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works or Frogwear games.
