About This Game

Deep within the bowels of a shadowy research facility, Anita, a girl birthed from experimental procedures, is implanted with the sentient nanomechanical entity known as ‘Apostle’. Working together with her nanite allies Anita must defeat a series of dangerous prototype bio-weapons as she searches for a way to break free from her nightmarish prison.

Battle against merciless adversaries: Face axe-wielding mechs, fire-spewing behemoths, and psychokinetic terrors, in vicious encounters culminating in the brutal execution of your foes.

Evolving multi-stage battles: When threatened, the destructive bio-weapons feature a failsafe causing them to become more ferocious, and often warping environments to enhance their onslaught.

More than a weapon: The symbiotic relationship between Anita and Apostle grants her numerous abilities such as Dodge, Parry, a series of Slashing Attacks, and a deadly Projectile.

Master the Destruction Point system: Utilise Apostle’s nanites to identify structural weaknesses known as ‘Destruction Points’, and exploit your opponent’s vulnerabilities to land devastating blows.

Experiment with skills: Earn skill points through combat and challenge stages. Whether you favour a tactical or reckless approach, create unique skill combinations that resonate with your style.

Take on the Challenge System: Earn skill points by completing various tasks from defeating hordes of minions to demonstrating dexterity in the parkour challenges.

The bosses are generally very fun, except for Boss 4, which I dislike because of the chase gimmick. The ability to look up different builds is also a plus. The story isn't the most gripping, but it's still a solid 8.5/10 game overall.

This game has just become one of my favorites of all time. The combat is quick, sharp, aggressive, and freeform. It feels amazing to clash over and over with a boss, tying in quick attacks, parries, dodges, and charge attacks when the time calls for it. You're never locked into a year-long recovery animation from an attack, and getting knocked down doesn't feel frustrating like it can in other games. You're just as fast as the enemies you fight, and the game makes incredible use of that to challenge you without antagonizing you. The expansion module system is also great to tinker around with, as it lets you really hone your exact playstyle to perfection in just the way you want. This game is an easy 10/10 for me, I only wish there were maybe a couple more bosses, or that it was just a little bit longer.

Overall, a pretty good game. I really enjoyed the experience. The combat feels smooth and responsive. I love the pixel art, and while the story isn’t super deep, it’s still quite enjoyable. I found myself wanting to know a bit more about the lore behind it. It’s a short game, but I’d definitely recommend picking it up on sale. For the devs: I think it would have been nice to be able to hold the attack button instead of pressing it every time. I also would have preferred having the second heavy attack mapped to a different button. I kept triggering it accidentally when trying to alternate between attacking and parrying.

This game is beautiful. It not only contains such a great story under all its great combat mechanics and artwork, every battle feels different and I love how it intense it can get with the move set the games gives you and how you can also upgrade yourself to help you, no upgrades feel too powerful and there are many to choose from for your own game style. I love the art style and the story that is shown, revealing a story that in my eyes, made me feel like what other games I love and keep in my heart make me feel. I totally recommend this game for anyone up for a new challenge and likes intense bossfights, it gives you what you need to play it and it offers a good amount of hours depending on how familiarized you are with games like this. I. LOVED. THIS. GAME.
