works great on steam deck, tight repackage of thps 1+2. the downside here is that if you buy this you are giving your money to activision, so that sucks. pretty decent time and it's very easy to pick up and play even for newcomers, even 25 years on!!!

Saw the hype of Tony Hawk remake (it is NOT REMASTER) so i bought it on sale. Didn't hit the same. Empty streets, graphically polished af but also politically correct down your throat. RGBT flags, no option to change gender, extremely stupid challenges (smash the boxes?) come on.. you can do better. Time limit just doesn't feel right. Not mentioning about just average sound design and ok ish soundtrack. I'll pass.
Fantastic game. The graphical overhaul is cool, but the real draw is being able to play the levels from the first two games with controls and physics that are closer to the third game, which to me was the series' peak gameplay-wise. However it still ostensibly requires an active internet connection for single-player, which is unacceptable, even if there is an easy workaround. It's a remake of a PS1 game, I shouldn't have to fuck with environment variables in order to play it during a service outage. Review will change to positive if this is ever patched out. In the meantime, add this to your launch options on Windows: cmd /c "set steamdeck=1 && %command%"
Booted this up for the nostalgia. 5 minutes in, I'm grinding rails like it's 2002. 10 minutes in, I'm googling if 30-year-olds can still learn to kickflip. 15 minutes in, I’ve pulled a hamstring trying to manual in my hallway. 11/10 would risk mild injury for childhood memories again.
Flooded with busy work and a cleaner aesthetic, THPS 1+2 feels like its soul has been ripped out.
If I was to play the original Tony Hawks Pro Skater games on Playstation, I’d probably be shocked by the slow game speed, warping textures and Turok-level draw distance. I’m fully aware of my rose-tinted glasses, and to that extent, THPS 1+2 is extremely successful. The game is up to speed with the pacing of later entries, the textures are razor sharp, and there’s no fog obscuring your view seven metres in front of you. But it’s not the technical limitations, or even the gameplay, which made Tony Hawks Pro Skater special. To me, it was the personality. I loved the grimy, desaturated visuals. I loved the rough and ready main menu which takes place in an old skate shop, which felt so authentic I could smell the old carpet and tires. I miss the classic bail animations, like your character crushing their balls between a rail, and low res blood splattering onto the ground. ...
Trash just play the originals on emulators for free then you will actually own the games, unlike steam games.
I wish Tony Hawk was real
I don't know, it's fun but in a way that doesn't make you feel good, if that makes any sense. Just emulate the originals.
Amazing remaster of two classic games. Includes most of the original soundtrack and some nice new tracks. Graphics are decent, but the best part is the gameplay and the amount of replayebility. A bit sad that the more punk/edgy mechanics are gone, but the rest of the game by far makes up for it.
