About This Game
From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.
The year is 1899
Wealthy industrialist Oswald Mandus awakes in his bed, wracked with fever and haunted by dreams of a dark and hellish engine. Tortured by visions of a disastrous expedition to Mexico, broken on the failing dreams of an industrial utopia, wracked with guilt and tropical disease, he wakes into a nightmare. The house is silent, the ground beneath him shaking at the will of some infernal machine: all he knows is that his children are in grave peril, and it is up to him to save them.
Unique Selling Points
- Fresh and new approach to the Amnesia world while staying true to its origins.
- The darkest, most horrific tale ever told in a videogame.
- Stunning soundtrack by award-winning composer Jessica Curry.

This is Machine for Pigs "Game Crashes for 100TH time" !!A big warning to new players considering this game!! There are constant crashes when loading into the next chapter. The only solution that worked for me was getting my old PC to finally get all achievements and complete the game. I genuinely love this game for its story, yes they removed a lot of gameplay that original had, but at least the story was worth experiencing. Now? You can’t even do that because of these crashes. It’s honestly depressing. What’s the point of buying an offline game to enjoy forever if it’s going to keep crashing? :( Wait, you're still reading? Okay, here's some extra info :) How to Get Amnesia A Machine for Pigs to Run in 2025 You'll need to use an old system GPU, etc. Newer PCs with modern graphics cards just don't work well with this game. Why Did I Leave a Review Now? Yes, I've had this game for quite a while. The reason I'm leaving a review now is because the game has become unplay...
Don't understand the hate for this game. The story is incredible and a lot scarier than the first one.
Saving is either entirely broken or non-existent. The game crashed when I finished the first chapter. There were no manual saving, so I assumed everything was autosaving, but lo and behold, my savefile list was empty when I restarted. If you want to complete this game, do so in one single sitting while say your prayers so that the game won't crash.
One of the best horror games out there, with an emphasis on story rather than gameplay. The game is highly atmospheric with an amazing soundtrack. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes a good and touching story. Unlike other reviewers, i never had an issue with the saving system (i played the game in 2 sessions or so, died only once or twice), aside from that the game doesnt have any issues aside from a few annoying sections towards the end. The game has amazing writing, truly amazing. Its a relatively short but very sweet experience, The Chinese Room outdid themselves when making this game. Absolute gaming.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs trades some of the raw terror of The Dark Descent for a slower, more unsettling kind of horror. Developed by The Chinese Room and released in 2013, it’s less about hiding from monsters and more about sinking into a grim, twisted story that sticks with you long after the credits roll. You play as Oswald Mandus, an industrialist in the early 20th century who wakes up in his mansion with fragmented memories and a strange machine rumbling beneath the city. From the start, the game oozes atmosphere: rain against windows, the low groan of machinery and that constant feeling that you’re being led somewhere you really don’t want to go. Gameplay is simpler here: there’s no sanity meter, inventory, or complex item management. Some players missed those features, but the stripped-down design puts more focus on exploration and narrative. The horror comes less from jump scares and more from what you imagine is happening just out of sight. Visually, it’s...
Gameplay & Physics : 7/10 Story : 6/10 Graphics : 7/10 Sound : 7/10 I give Amnesia : A machine for pigs a thumbs up because it is a good game. It gives a short and an entertaining adventure. Final Rating : 6.75/10.
Not as good as Amnesia The dark descent, but still good.
Gameplay: 7/10 -vessel for the story -make sure you interact with every single item -if you know someone who loves this game, play it next to them Visuals: 9/10 -the style makes it hold up stunningly well after all this time -impeccable atmosphere Sound: 9/10 -the voice acting is very good, gives you a feel for the characters talking -just not a lot to say. Good sound design is rarely noticeable Story: 8/10 -it wont spoonfeed you, gotta work to understand it -I didnt really get it fully untill it was explained to me -good twists and turns Difficulty: extremely easy -a lot of people struggle with the puzzles, but im goated I guess. Again just pick up every single item you see and try to keep thinking of stuff. -I only died a single time, and that was because I was being funny Overall, very enjoyable and worth the time.
Before I start let me say that I do not believe in any way that Amnesia AMFP is a perfect game. Allow me to start with the negatives. The game has it's issues in terms of gameplay and difficulty. Unlike the first game, Amnesia AMFP has no real danger for the vast majority of the game. It's actually hard to die somehow, as long as you run away you should be fine in most cases. The game also holds your hand a little too much, it treats you as if you're completely new to video games. If you struggle with puzzles that'll work out for you, but to people who enjoy puzzles that really make you think, you'll probably find the game a little too easy. And then there's the obvious: you can't interact with the environments the same way you can in Amnesia TDD. In that game you can pick up essentially everything and throw it around, you can slap the grunt with a piece bread or throw barrels at the brute. In this game the interaction is a lot more limited. To sum up all the negatives let me say thi...
