About This Game

Garrett, the Master Thief, steps out of the shadows into the City. In this treacherous place, where the Baron’s Watch spreads a rising tide of fear and oppression, his skills are the only things he can trust. Even the most cautious citizens and their best-guarded possessions are not safe from his reach.

As an uprising emerges, Garrett finds himself entangled in growing layers of conflict. Lead by Orion, the voice of the people, the tyrannized citizens will do everything they can to claim back the City from the Baron’s grasp. The revolution is inevitable. If Garrett doesn’t get involved, the streets will run red with blood and the City will tear itself apart.

Garrett never paid the price for anything… until now.

I didn’t play this expecting a true Thief game. Still, I will criticize some aspects from the perspective of it being part of the Thief franchise. Things I disliked: - Jumping system: It’s clear this game wasn’t properly tested before release. So many times I jumped unintentionally… So many times I wanted to jump, but had to take one or two steps back from a ledge just to make it work… And don’t get me started on how often I fell into pits even though I was holding the Run/Jump button. - Same button for interacting and peeking: I just want to loot, and I end up peeking over a chest or a wall. So frustrating! - The story makes no sense, and most characters are just annoying. - False Master Thief: This guy gets caught so many damn times! He’s no Master Thief — he’s an impostor. He’s also a
false Garrett. You find out in one mission that this game is a reboot, but somehow set in the future of the original trilogy. The original Garrett is completely disres...

Its a good game but its gameplay isnt the same as the original Thief games. The originals are more strategy stealth and this one is more story focused.

Okay, trust me i recommend disregarding the negative reviews, as this game offers a truly enjoyable and stealthy experience, "literally it looks like assassin's creed in Zack Snyder's universe ", i must say that this game is quite impressive and highly recommend giving it a try..

Vast majority of the runtime is spent in preset animations when searching through hundreds of drawers that might contain a few silver forks worth 1 gold each. Seriously. Every single action has an arbitrary animation or quick time event that locks you in place and ruins the experience so quickly. It almost feels on rails at times because of how dynamic the original games were, which gave you almost sandbox type stealth scenarios. Here, you can only jump when the game wants you to, only shoot rope arrows into wood that the devs want you to, and will get forcefully caught multiple times no matter how well you sneak. Light and sound system is inconsistent and dumbed down. AI is sometimes relentless or completely clueless even on master. Sound design is horrible. Writing is straight up cringeworthy and so in your face with 'clues'. Edginess is off the charts and not in a charming way. Characters are irritating, even Garrett, who has had a crazy fall-off in terms of looks. Controls are terr...

The game is fine but a lot of bugs occurs and the movement is kinda clunky, some interactions are not working for example the chapter where the brothel doesn't work, you have to watch a tutorial to finish it due to a bug of not showing the right symbols, some of the in game puzzles are also bad at giving hints for example if you dare play this till the giant vault chapter you'll understand what i am saying. Overall the game have fun mechanics but for a old game where the bugs are still not patched or fixed kinda disappoint
Can't tell if they blind or I best Thief to live...
I tried to play these games as a kid but never understand the concept of "Stealth" figuring I could just kill my way through but as an Adult I know know Thief is at its best when played stratigiclly... and when all else fails kill way through. This more Modern Thief game has been a blast to play through and a very casual midnight game to sink an hour into playing through all 8 chapters. It has a far more interesting story then I expected. Yea it has all the typical things you'd expect like corruption, anarcy, degenerasy and explotation. Outside of the norm the actual story includes ancient gods, mythical powers and monsters? The Gameplay is combo of Stealth, strategy and combat with combat being the least of the three styles. I really enjoyed trying to make it through entire missions or areas never being seen... and always failing to do so. Theres lots of ways to traverse areas, collect valuables and purchase ...

I'm a fan of the originals, even '3', but this is a misfire in a startling number of ways. - The hub is a damned chore to go through and it feels like it was meant to pad the general runtime of the game. - The story isn't compelling and my boy Garrett is but a pale shadow (lol pun) of the original. + Some good ideas were implemented into the gameplay itself, such as the inclusion of the rope arrows (which were absent in '3'), peeking, and swooping. However... - Birds in cages, which act as stationary sentries, are obnoxious in "no alert" playthroughs (this includes the caged dogs). =/+ There are boss fights, although you can take a "peaceful" option instead of "confronting" them. - No more "taffers" to tiff-taff among the riff-raff. No more witty quips a la "classic" Garrett. No more noir-ish feel, the world is hardly built beyond piecemeal. - Sound design is pretty damned disappointing and flies in the face of "stealth" mechanics of yesteryear; footstep volume is only a tert...
