"IT AXES AND COMES BACKSES!" What an ABSOLUTE STEAL at $2. The core mechanic with the axe is easy to learn and hard to master! Coupled that with the fact that it's such a simple and elegant mechanic, it works really well with all the different powerups that you get to accumulate (and unlock!) during your runs. The game is stylish, the fx and the feedback are very well polished, and the music and sound design is excellent! 10/10 ez recommend

30 minutes in: Kind of fun 60 minutes in: Dying over & over to the first boss, not so fun.

This game is awesome. It is sober, innovative, skill-based fairly. The meta-progression is limited and is done quickly. The most frustrating thing is that meta-currency keeps being present even when it becomes irrelevant and maxed out - taking place of other resources, and appearing as a meaningful resource when it isn't anymore. I would recommend to the developer to balance that out. But if that's the most frustrating aspect of a skill-grind game, then you know the game is good. The music is also pretty great. It makes you satisfied to progress just from hearing the next pieces. All in all, would highly recommend.

Fun game! Pros: Easy to get started, fun gameplay, good music and art. Cons: I keep dying.

UPDATE: I got my cigarettes and now it's 2:30 AM and all I'm trying to do is avoid getting hit by my own damn axe. :D I did manage to make it past the first boss and I saw a new enemy that literally blocks my axe and yeets it back at me. That's pretty cool. Needless to say, I really like this game. My play time is pretty short (0.1 hours at the time of this review), but I managed to die about 10 times. I need to run out and buy more cigarettes before I continue playing this game. The game itself? It's really cool, actually. You are a little Viking looking dude who punches an axe into enemies that are spraying bullets at you. The cool thing is, the axe is a boomerang, so it comes back after hitting the enemy. If you don't punch it, it hits you. You start with three hearts and I have yet to find a heart pickup, but that's probably due to my short playtime. I made it to the first boss once but did not manage to kill it. Power ups are unlockable via meta progression that does not seem...

I like twin stick shooters, I like this game. I'm not very good at it. You get to practice your timing and positional awareness very nicely with this.

it's like tennis but with consequences. The big bird boss seems tricky but honestly they're pretty manageable, the real problem is those little lizard guys like the one that spits on the guy in jurassic park. Absolute menace, and possibly illegal.

20 min in and have died at least 15 times. Hard, but serotonin levels SHOOT up when you clear a crazy room without axe'ing yourself by accident. Love it, will continue for plenty twenties of minutes more! Edit after 3 hours: I have achieved my apotheosis and defeated the cassowary boss of the first floor... after 3 hours. Very fun.

well, its definitely fun if you know which upgrades to take, although there are NO I-FRAMES for some reason, and when you take damage and miss your axe, congrats, you take another damage. this feels more like a miniature hardcore game, but not a bad one. bird boss is autistic i hate him

A very difficult yet fun little action bh roguelike that is incredibly satisfying to succeed in. The core boomerang mechanic just works so well and allows for the gameplay to almost never get stale despite not having as much variation between runs as some other roguelikes.
