I highly recommend it; the only real flaw is the main character is a bit bland and very detached from the conflict and should have just been either more of a "character" or just some OC custom character. As long as you go into this game understanding you are playing 1 single new character with different weapons and not the standard cast of nearly 100 characters, it's a fun crowd cleaner game.

The Short Version: This is one of the best Action games I've played, and features the best combat and duelling mechanics of any Dynasty Warriors game, while also doing very well at conveying the general story of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms (from the Yellow Turban rebellion up to Chibi). Despite only getting to play as one (completely fictional) main character, there is a good amount of weapon and special ability/equipment variety to keep the game from feeling stale, and there are plenty of missions to play and ways to play them. The Slightly Longer Version: Dynasty Warriors: Origins preserves most of what has ever been great about Dynasty Warriors (the dynamic battlefields, notable characters from the Three Kingdoms era, and one-vs.-many combat) and adds much improved parrying and duelling mechanics, better squad/tactic management, and a customizable set of special moves for each weapon. Fights with enemy officers feel great, and the tougher enemies feel more like Sekiro ...

The most optimized game of 2025, stop buying poorly made games and support this instead.

Really fun gameplay, and good story/characters too

Welp, better than DW 9 hahaha. Combat satisfying, although it does not reach the ending of the whole three kingdom like other DW series but it will be too much for this game cause there is a lot of detail in it. So if you're DW fan definitely should get it.

While the main combat loop is 100% Musou, the way combat with officers is handled more as a parry > dodge > attack puzzle with aspects that make that combat engaging over a long term. It is a single character game mostly, and while not getting to really play as the famous officers is a bit disappointing I do like that some of their ideologies and personalities were more fleshed out. Just keep in mind that you are playing the most attractive man in The Three Kingdoms.

Bought this game coz I love the mc design, stayed for the gameplay. Super worth it- Took me about 100hrs to 100% the game too, soo that's something :O Rating: [ 8/10 ]

I can not praise this game enough so to keep it simple i will list the only two faults i saw 1.Certain (FA) have absolutely zero impact on gameplay or have a single choice which changes nothing Wei Route doesn't have that problem issue 2.English voice acting is really bad on some characters mostly Guo Jia wouldn't suggest English VA overall. Its great buy it immediately

I haven't played every Dynasty game, but I feel they finally perfected the combat system. Parry, dodge, and block all felt natural. Though you are limited to one character they make it up by providing weapon options as you progress the game. I like the idea of playing a character outside the main cast, it was a refreshing take on the franchise since most people are already familiar with the characters and their ambitions on why they fight, but what I loved was how they directed that message to you the player as you go on this journey with them, depending on who you align with of course. I can't wait for the DLC and the potential that Dynasty Warriors: Origins will provide. I would also like to add that the game is very user friendly compared to others and if you are new to this franchise, you don't need prior knowledge to get into the game since it starts you off way into the beginning of the Dynasty Warrior franchise.
