Hands down my most played game on PSP. Wish they commited more to that port, because stripping it of multiplayer is a giant miss, despite the fact the co-op play could be a little bit hectic and annoying. Still, it works and is as good as I remember. 10/10

About This Game
All Patapons have unique characteristics and classes (jobs) such as the Hatapon who stands in the center of the squadron waving its flag and leading its allies, the Tatepon who protects others with its large shield, and the Yumipon who attacks by shooting arrows. The role of each Patapon during battle varies with their class, allowing you to create a unique and well-rounded army to take on the various challenges that await!
As the player, you are the God of the Patapons and lead them on a grand adventure to Earthend!
PATAPON and PATAPON 2 are now a packaged set!
The two games, released in 2007 and 2008, are back as a remastered set!
The game involves 2 elements: simple controls and strategic combat!
The controls are incredibly simple, comprised of the rhythmic beating of four drums [Pata(←), Pon(→), Don(↓), Chaka(↑)].
At the same time, there are many strategic elements, such as using the right battle commands during the right situation, and creating an army comprised of the classes (jobs) of Patapons, creating a game that is easy to understand while still offering a challenge!
A Game full of Challenges and Variety!
Patapons can be made or enhanced using various items. On top of that, even stronger Patapons can be created by gathering materials from stages and minigames. The game contains 400 weapons and equipment to enhance and upgrade your Patapons!
Customize your army to your heart’s content and create a one-of-a-kind squadron to take on the various enemies and challenges this game has to offer!
New support features!
While the original game elements remain unchanged, new support features have been added for a more enjoyable gaming experience!
Newly implemented features found in this version allow players to adjust the standard difficulty between Easy, Normal, and Hard, adjust the timing of button presses, and keep the drum icon displayed at all times!
Enjoy the original PATAPON, made better with all-new features!

User Reviews
I'm writing this review after finishing Patapon 1. I have played Patapon demo as a child on my PSP and I always have loved the concept and the game itself as well, but unfortunately I never got around to buying a full version of the game. I bought this game because of this very reason, I wanted a full version and I personally have enjoyed this version a lot. However I am forced to give this game a negative review because I view it as a very low-quality product for this price. I understand this is a game from 2007 (and 2 from 2008) but paying this much (not sure how much it would be in dollars, something like 35$?) I expected the game to have most of its issues fixed... issues that I would accept in a 2007 game but not in a 2025 release of any game. This feels like a very haphazardly thrown together PC port where the developers (under some heavy pressure from the publisher, I assume) have only figured out a way to make the game work in 1080p... barely, I still experienced visual artif...
An absolutely pathetic attempt at a port which runs far worse compared to emulation you could have done over a decade ago, for free. The graphics are upscaled but terribly misaligned and janky, and the fact that this game can't handle basic inputs is laughable. I saw complains about input lag, but what I experienced was far worse. Inputs weren't even registering at times, and in a game where you consistently have to keep rhythm, this makes the game far harder and much more frustrating than it needs to be. The lack of Patapon 3 is also questionable, as 1 is essentially just an inferior version of 2, and 3, for good or for worse, is far more unique and interesting. 3 should have been included, and both 2 and 3 should have had multiplayer functionality, but I guess "SAS CO., LTD," whatever that is supposed to be, can only seem to give online coop to the Switch 2... As for the games themselves, they're fine but very grindy, and most of the appeal for them nowadays is their nostalgia fact...
There are some bugs, tree minigame missing audio in both games and patagate in second game a bit messed up with cropped text. I have not encountered a switched equipment bug, so I guess I was lucky. Otherwise works fine, perfect inputs much easier on easy difficulty(obvious?).
the patapon series is incredibly woke
it's good
I don't even need 10 hours to review this game! This was the game that made me hooked going into music. used to play it nonstop on the PSP before, then to the PPSSPP, and I won't stop playing this Remake ever. This is by far a lot better than on an emulator, especially with the input timing feature. PLEASE RELEASE PATAPON 3 as well, I'd pay full price for that sucka
Begging on my hands and knees for Patapon 3 to be released it's my favorite game in the world I'm going to cry I miss Patapon 3
it remains patapeak now please, if we ever get a patapon 3 replay, PLEASE keep the online functionality
i love those silly lil eye balls
