Just spent 3 or so hours trying to play this as it reminded me of Empyrion - Galactic Survival, which I like for the most part. And playing this was similar. But controls (imo) need to be simplified and standardized. For instance, just about every keyboard control, that I recall, was a "shift+key" combo. And I really dislike having to press Alt to release my cursor to make decisions. Why do we need the combo for every choice? The cities are all built on foundations which have no manual stair access and my jetpack didn't work most of the time to get me onto said foundation to interact with npcs and enter buildings. Also, why so many doors to go thru to gain access? Like I said earlier, simplify things for us. I really do enjoy trying to figure out games like this, especially pve games. But after 3 hours I got frustrated trying to figure out things. So I'm hoping it gets better with upgrades. Also, maybe more hints about how to do some of the early stuff without having to g...

About This Game
In CYOU you will take a journey to construct your own universe. You will create star systems, star clusters, even galaxies, after completing the main story line and/or gaining the sufficient abilities. Every player, every choice, every interaction is important!

User Reviews
This game is in an alpha state. Many core features have yet to be added or don't work yet. Lots of placeholders. I may change this to a thumbs up if some progress is made on the laundry list of issues this game has. I almost want to give it a thumbs up because the dev has been extremely responsive to feedback, going so far as to add me on Discord. I've been giving direct feedback on many things. Also, the concept is very unique, and for some reason I just feel drawn to this game. However, the bad FAR outweighs the good. Thumbs down is based on the current state of the game and the likelihood of it turning into anything worthwhile. Again, if I see progress made on critical issues, I may change to thumbs up. It seems obvious to me that the developer(s) are brand new, making a game far outside of their comfort zone. There are bugs everywhere and with everything. Even if the dev(s) completely committed to polish and bug fixing (which they've said they would), I somewhat doubt they have ...
I've seen some buggy early access games but this one is not even ready for early access. First launch it took close to 10 minutes to actually open a screen then eventually it loaded a planet and a reentry cutscene. After that I was just stuck in a the pod. Not only did none of the controls work the suggestions found in the forums. At this point I cannot recommend this game. Will communicate with the devs and see what happens before I get a refund. Update: The dev got in touch the next day. I was able to exit the pod the second time launching the game but the load times are still slow. The camera is sensitive but lowering the mouse input helped. I can see the potential. I'll keep the game and check for updates.
Independent developer game. There are bugs, but the game is currently in early access. The developer takes all feedback into consideration. Gameplay is enjoyable. There is a very big universe. I can definitely recommend it to space game lovers.
