At 60 yrs old I finally found A game that Tickles my fancy. Tried the demo Friday and bought the full game Saturday. Thank you so much for the work you have put into it. I was an original Ever Quest Player.Started back in 1997 when Sony released the beta. played on my Packard bell 486 DX2 with my wife for many years of Enjoyment. Erenshor is shaping up real well.

About This Game

Erenshor is a single player adventure designed to capture the game play and feeling of an MMORPG. You will meet and group with hundreds of Erenshor's SimPlayers - which are your digital companions who persistently exist in the world, who progress independently, and who will always be ready to group and adventure along side you whenever you're ready.
Players will spend dozens or even hundreds of hours working on their characters. By the time they've reached the end game they'll be carrying godly weapons, long-lost spells, and legendary armor into battle - where they'll be nearly untouchable for all but the most fearsome opponents in Erenshor.

Erenshor is a single player love letter to the early MMORPGs that paved the way for the games we play today. Taking inspiration from the classics of the late 90s and early 00s, Erenshor does not offer quick rewards or hand-holding. Players will get lost, stumble upon deadly foes, and learn hard lessons. The keen adventurer will be rewarded.
Combat is deliberate and deadly. You'll need to consider positioning, strategy, and most importantly: what to do if it all goes wrong.
Your reward will be access to a monster's treasures once it's defeated. Some will drop swords, or armor, or jewels... and if you're lucky, it might have one of it's rare drops in its inventory - all for the taking.
If not - it'll respawn in time, and you'll slay it again for another chance.

Erenshor is built from the ground up to be a single player experience. All of the content, each puzzle, and all game play is hand built and balanced for one player, making Erenshor the only "MMO-Like" that is truly meant to be played alone.
You'll start with nothing, stranded on a small island off the mainland of Erenshor. With persistence, you'll gain power and wealth. Success will not come without failure, but with every party wipe and failed battle you'll gain experience and knowledge to come back and try again.

Partner with our signature Simulated Players to experience all of the content the game has to offer.
These players will level up alongside you (whether you're online or not), they'll find new items on their own and they'll find them with your help. They'll ask for loot drops, they'll buy and sell loot, join and leave guilds, and even invite you to raids as they get to know you. They'll remember you and how you treat them.
The SimPlayers all have their own pre-written personalities and motivations, and their own opinions of you and of the other players. You'll find favorites, and together you'll conquer the world of Erenshor one rare drop at a time.
Grow together as a 'server' in order to defeat Erenshor's toughest opponents... and then leave the realm to challenge the Gods themselves!

You'll hunt monsters, complete quests, and find lost artifacts worth more gold than you could ever wish for. Each upgraded item will bring tangible increases in power, and soon the unwavering foes before you will be pushed aside, revealing a challenge even greater.

NPCs all respawn. You can attack any of them, and they all drop loot. Even the good guys.
Factions exist. Wiping out a town may mean you're no longer welcome there... but it may open up doors elsewhere.
Thousands of unique items, from common drops, to legendary treasure.
Simulated Players: You may get an invitation to join a group of simulated players in slaying a dragon or even a God. The treasures are yours for the taking.
Cities, Dungeons, Tombs, Forests, Beaches, Forts, Meadows, Caves, and Mountain Ranges - a huge world to explore with secrets in every corner.
Lore and Story done your way. Investigate the mysteries of Erenshor, or don't. Kill mindlessly for power, or with direction and purpose.
A World Divided: The game world is divided into separate 'zones'. Areas are unique to themselves, and can be traversed at will - whether you're ready for it or not.
Multiple Character Slots and a shared Bank. Subsequent characters have the option of starting with a massive advantage, including XP bonuses.
No micro transactions. Ever.
*Note that SimPlayers do not use LLM or any other emerging AI model. They are run by a mixture of state machines and decision trees. This means no token fees, and no lapse in service after a certain amount of use.

This game is so good I suggest to pick it up even at full price, it runs great on the steam deck, try the demo to play for free and see if you enjoy the Erenshor⚔️
This game is actually kind of crazy. I played the demo shortly, and honestly did not give it more than a few minutes. That was a mistake. On a whim, I picked this up again and decided to at least play through the Tutorial Island, and something just clicked. It's so addicting. I would say the game feels like a mixture of Runescape, Classic WoW, and Everquest - but you're solo. And if you want to play with friends, even though it's single-player, there is a working Erenshor Co-Op mod you can grab through Thunderstore. One-click install, and easy coop afterward. I'll bullet list some of the random thoughts I have below:

Combat is deliberate, not ADHD. Importance lies more in mana-management & thoughtful casting, as opposed to spamming every button.
Dungeons are deep, labyrinthine, artistically cohesive, and compelling. Not like the linear post-Cata WoW dungeons, but more like LBRS, or the original WC / RFC. Oh, and they have more than once entrance/exit sometimes. Explor...
Load into game, First "Player" I run into has the exact same name as my dog, spelling and all. Proceed to do a couple of dungeons with him. We're now besties. 10/10 will go dungeoneering with my dog again! Seriously this game is great, feels old-school and familiar at every turn. So much content to dig into and we're still in early access. Super excited for this games future.
I did not grow up on Classic MMOs like Everquest. I am 28 years old and started playing MMOs as a child with WoW back in 2008. I have no experience whatsoever with MMOs from before that time. I have played many more modern games in the genre but the "oldest" one I have personally played is Classic WoW. I am not the target audience of Erenshor... and I absolutely adore this game! There is so much care, love and passion poured into this awesome experience. Exploring the world, talking to the NPCs, learning the lore and experiencing the visual storytelling in this game perfectly captures that sense of wonder that only MMOs can bring! The zone, dungeon and encounter designs are varied and fun. I also love the graphical design of this game, there's just something so charming about it. My friends and I always joke that the worst part of playing an MMO is the people in the MMO, whether they're stealing mob tags or just being assholes. Erenshor eliminates all of that. No fighting for tags, no...
Yesterday, I saw 10 minutes of someone playing this game, closed the video and immediately bought it. I love the exploration and figuring the quests out. I love being able to work my way towards things at my own pace. Having my own little group of followers makes me feel like I'm playing a final fantasy game and I love it. Highly recommend playing this if you care little for the real social aspects of mmos and more about the adventure!
Absolutely loving this game so far: the game design rewards the player's curiosity! As an example (Minor Spoilers warning), talking to a NPC led me an island with a series of excellent puzzles - it's clear that this game is made with a lot of love. Looking forward to seeing what else the game has in store!
A Solo Adventure for Introverts
🏰 Erenshor - A Journey Worth Taking
What I Played: I dove into Erenshor and spent hours teaming up with SimPlayers, uncovering quests, and venturing through this vast open world. The Good:

The exploration in Erenshor is top-notch - each corner hides a new secret or challenge, making me feel like a true adventurer.
The attention to detail in the world-building is fantastic, with lore-rich items and NPCs that make every interaction compelling.
The Bad:

I wished the combat system had a bit more depth; it felt a tad repetitive after long play sessions.
Some quests felt a bit fetch-questy, which broke the immersion at times.
Verdict: Recommended - Erenshor offers a refreshing RPG experience that focuses on the journey rather than the destination. Despite a few hiccups, the world's richness and sense of discovery make it a game worth delving into for any RPG enthusiast.
this is a great game that is worth the price. i put in 280 hours and i still havent even done everything.
