Couldn't be happier that this collection is on Steam, at 25$ this is well worth the money. Also, they just technically shadowdropped the first Castlevania game in like 10+ years?? Crazy work Konami. These three DS games are some of the best Castlevania experiences in the series, just shy of Symphony of the Night. They added many quality of life features including savestates, rewind, a nice gallery and even reworked the damn touch screen seals from Dawn of Sorrow! The one thing I wish made it is I wish they fixed the bugged luck in Dawn (look it up, its kind of depressing) But I understand you probably need the source code for something like that and the game is pushing 20 years old. Was not expecting Haunted Castle remake to be the stand out game here. Its short and sweet, with sexy new pixel art, music and very tight controls. The final boss especially was exhilirating and one of the scariest Dracula forms yet! It's just awesome seeing a well polished Classicvania in the current d...

man, they actually fixed Dawn of Sorrow for those that dont know, the original release on the Nintendo DS had some extremely gimmicky touch controls, the worst of them by far was the seal mechanic, basically, every time you defeated a boss you had to draw a stupid seal on screen, if you failed to properly draw the seal, the boss would regenerate a bit of health and you couldnt defeat em the idea on itself was dumb, but the fact drawing those seals wasnt 100% accurate only added to the frustration however that whole seal drawing thing is completely optional here, by default the game only asks you to do a silly Quick Time Event instead, its not a perfect solution, but it works a million times better, everything else about DoS is as great as ever for extra comfort, i recommend playing this game on a controller with gyro, the game accepts mouse and controller inputs at the same time, so you do stuff like, breaking ice crystals using touch controls while keeping full control over your c...

I never got to play these games on original hardware so this was a welcome surprise. Engaging combat, kicker soundtrack, gorgeous pixel art, multiple difficulty modes and playable characters. Give yourself the chance to experience some of the best castlevania has to offer. WARNING: Tons of optional grinding ahead!

dawn of sorrow: 9/10 portrait of ruin: 8/10 order of ecclesia: 9/10 easily the best set of castlevania games out of the three (four if you count requiem on the ps) collections.

Order of Ecclesia alone is worth the price of admission, but you also get the two other great Nintendo DS games and both the original version and a remake of the arcade edition of Castlevania, "Haunted Castle," So thats kinda cool, I guess. Of all the Castlvania collections so far, this one seems the most polished with multiple save slots and other feature that weren't in the Anniversary or Advance collections.

I recommend this if only because it makes the DS elements in dawn of sorrow bearable and it features portrait of ruin which is the best castlevania game ever made and still a top 20 metroidvania to this day. Don't play order of ecclesia though, that game is basically GRIME but linear and with the parry & absorb mechanics completely missing, making the combat extremely bad.
