About This Game

Welcome to Grapple League.

You'll soon embark upon a high-flying swinging adventure through several different worlds and levels to prove your skill against others in the League. Will you be able to conquer the various levels, reach the mountaintop and go beyond? Prove yourself as a master grappler!

Features
Five different worlds!

  • Ocean World! Every grappler's first world. Colorful tarp covered objects create intense obstacle courses!
  • The Canyon! The windy canyon makes for winding tight passageways and wide areas for free swinging!
  • The Mountain! Exceptional difficulty renders most grapplers unable to complete the daunting task of traveling vast distances and ascending to the peak. Prove yourself!
  • Space! Gravity is no longer down! This may get tricky quick!
  • The City! A foggy grey cyberpunk city where the fastest and only way through is by swinging across flying cars!

Swing in Style Gain Style by swinging and grappling quickly! Manage to get up to S-Style and you'll find boost plentiful!

Build Boost by building Style! Boost charges dynamically based on your speed and style while you swing!

Unlockable Boost Types!
The initial boost is incredibly handy, but some say they have found other boost types with significant advantages!

  • Base Boost. Jet yourself in the direction your facing! A grappler's staple.
  • Jump. A direct leap upwards. Exceptionally useful in some situations!
  • Glide. More useful than it seems. Dampen momentum in all directions except the one you're facing!
  • Bounce. Difficult to master, but improbably handy. An isosphere that reflects anyone who impacts it perfectly. Also grappleable. Nice.
  • More? Rumor has it there was another, hidden and lost to space!

Endless Mode
Master all the courses available? Get some distance in this endless run where instead of time, distance is your foe.

The Ultimate Test
With Steam Leaderboards enabled test yourself against your friends and the best of the best. Think you're the greatest? Prove it!

Swing and fling yourself into the finish!

It's a bit simplistic at the start, but once the levels open up with more options for zipping around it's a charming little game. The progression from basic swinging to maneuvers that would inflict constant lethal G-forces on anyone actually attempting them is a trip. Game's got some bugs in places as can be expected from early access, but I'm interested to see where it goes from here.

A fresh take on platforming that appears deceptively simple but later on requires careful planning and execution. Momentum is the name of the game and the on-screen timer gives you just the right temptation to go for that riskier maneuver to get a better time. And when you finally pull off those perfectly executed swing around pillars or orbitals it feels so satisfying to fly around. This is one of those indie titles that doesn't need fancy graphics or cutscenes to work. It's just fun and knows what its about. The narrator is amusing, subtly helpful, and doesn't overstay her welcome. My recommendation is to play until at least halfway through world 2 to get a good feeling for the game, because swinging through canyons is so different than the world 1. Fair warning that because this game is in Early Access, you are going to encounter some difficulty spikes and in particular the last levels of each world feel "Nintendo hard." However, it's hard for me to recall another game in r...

Very fun game, but with a bit of a learning curve getting used to how the grappling feels and a few difficulty spikes. Definitely worth playing long enough to get used to though, it's a ton of fun once you get the hang of it. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Grapple League is a cheap, fun game that I believe is pretty well made as it has entertaining mechanics and, surpisingly, a pretty high skill cap. There's a lot to take advantage of and, like any charming platformer/movement game, there are some wonderful bugs to enhance your speedrunning. I won't name any as I personally abuse them to get the top times in all the courses but I'm sure they'll be patched eventually. Anyways, I recommend buying this game if you're a fan of games with movement mechanics and plenty of shortcuts. (I edited my review as my previous grievances were fixed. Thanks devs!)

If you like the first mirror's edge you will enjoy this movement based game the game does take skill to maintain fluid motion so it's not easy but it feels great once it starts to click. also the sound track is great and features indie techno artists

Do yourself a favor and give this game a fair swing. The addictive physics engine will have you coming back to best your friends. I find it rewarding to have to reset and reinvent my approach to a level where it might feel extremely hard at first, but a fresh start and new thinking will get you to the finish line with ease. The free-form world 2 might feel intimidating, but really rewards exploring new strategy. The level of difficulty for a traversal game that is all or nothing is hard to get right and it's very important to do so. This game does it well, and I haven't beaten it yet--which is a good thing. I appreciated the solid voice acting which helps give you the slight nudge to keep going and keep exploring. Looking forward to new worlds and fresh challenges.

This is one of those games you can just boot up real quick and try to do some interesting things in to see what's possible. The momentum in this game feels realistic and also fair. It rewards precise positioning and punishing just kind aiming willy nilly. Which is very rewarding when you get the hang of it and figure out the timings of your jumps and grapples as well as your momentum and speed. You can definitely get away with some cheeky runs in this game and that is pretty dope. If it maintains this momentum ;) This game is going to be great!
