About This Game

Roguelite - Strategy - RPG

Create a party of four tourists who, after two-weeks in layover hell, find themselves in the now-abandoned Atlanta airport, oblivious that the Apocalypse has overrun America.

After escaping Motorlord Dysentery — the new ruler of the American highways — they'll have to hustle and fight their way past a host of crazy characters on a trail to Portland Oregon, the last free city on Earth.

Those that survive the journey will need to follow geography hints to recruit three brilliant scientists in a mad plan to Reverse the Apocalypse!

...That is if the actual player's old high school rival doesn't have something to say about it.

I'm the developer's Mom, so I have a vested interest BUT I had a good time playing this game. It is creative, offers a variety of actions from the quiz to shooting the bad guys and left me with an interest in playing more. I am new to gaming, in fact this is the first game I've really spent much time playing. It was a good one to start with, but it has plenty of complexity for folks who have well developed gaming skills. I suggest you play it and share it with your friends.

Apocalypse Run is a clever, funny, challenging game that never loses sight of the FUN. Also it’s somehow super refreshing to play a game like the classics where you’re expected to die over and over and get further and learn things as you do. I’ve only done a few runs but each has been different from the past ones, there’s so much replayability built right in. ALSO the tutorial is hilarious - don’t skip the help!

Trying out my friend's game. Very funny. My daughter loves it and it is actually teaching her geography.

This reminds me of old Mad Max style C64 game, Roadwar 2000, which I loved very much! As an EA game it definitely need some love n work from dev, haven't encountered any bugs so far, but it needs more random encounters as they start repeating itself very quick. Also not sure I like "fixed" poker minigame, could work much better if totally random maybe? Anyway <3 recommend this!

This game is fantastic. Its mad max Oregon trail with tactics combat and poker for skill checks. If that does not interest you for 15$, I am not sure what will.

The game includes some clean humor. Made me laugh. There is a Mad Max-ish element that has some nice strategy. The play though is done really well and the game is meant to be replayed many times. Each time you keep leveling up and new choices become available. Really an "any age" game. Good price point!

A great game with a good, self-aware sense of humour and fun car combat. Big thumbs up :)

Humorous decision-based survival game that is a bit reminiscent of the classic Oregon Trail with sardonic voxel characters. A more modern comparison would be FTL with its branching paths, skill checks, and regular turn-based combat. Additional starting options unlock with progress for what looks like solid replayability. I'm enjoying my runs, though tend to get scragged a bit too quickly by the boss right now. I suspect with additional unlocks that will no longer be the case. Seems well worth a try and I encourage you to do so.

Apocalypse Run is sort of like the lovechild between The Oregon Trail and Mad Max. It doesn't take itself too seriously--in fact, it doesn't take itself seriously at all--and the core mechanics and turn-based gameplay are solid. Difficulty scaling is mostly-well-tuned, events are well-written, and the developer clearly put a lot of thought, and eighties references, into the design. While I don't think global-warming-based sea level rise -quite- engulfs the US as quickly as it does, and there could be a bit more backstory (and variety for events and encounters), overall the iterative, rougelike gameplay and the building of parties in subsequent chapters based on surviving characters and vehicles, is enjoyable and encourages several run-throughs. 8.7/10 would give Bill to the hyper-intelligent pets in exchange for a used car again.
