Monster Hunter Stories is an RPG that takes the world of Monster Hunter and expands upon it in new and exciting ways! No longer are you hunting monsters, but raising them! In this deep story featuring heroes known as Monster Riders, you will live alongside monsters and form lifelong bonds with them.

The first installment of the Monster Hunter Stories series returns, fully voiced in Japanese and English, with additional features such as a new museum mode where you can listen to music and view concept art, allowing you to dive even deeper into the world of Monster Hunter Stories.

Story:

As the hero of the story, you were born in a village of Riders who raise monsters for a living. You’ll overcome trials and tribulations as you grow as a Rider, and leave your village to embark on an adventure. Your destination: the world of Hunters, who make their living by hunting monsters. Although their lifestyles are vastly different, you must learn to live and work together with Hunters, and in turn, bring the world of Hunters and Riders ever closer.

Things take a dark turn as a calamity known as the Black Blight appears, threatening the entire world and upending peaceful lives that were taken for granted... Both Riders and Hunters alike will be put to the test in order to challenge this threat.

The keys to saving the world are the Kinship Stone and its hidden power, along with the truth of the “Legend of Redan,” which describes the long-kept secret of the Riders’ origins! Along your epic journey, you will discover the true meaning of Kinship, which grows as your bonds deepen! A story of friendship and triumph await you—ride on into the world of Monster Hunter Stories!

Pokemon but with cooler monsters because of the better "graphics". its a great game and ill add to the very minimal review total ( 725 before i add mine here ) and ill give it an upvote because of the little attention the game has received compared to MHS2. my only real complaint with it is no auto combat feature, and the very, very stupid combat system of memorizing your opponents attack style. theirs power mode, SPEED< and TECH options, and each type of monster has a "habit" or "pattern" of using 1 of those 3 and it in a way comes down to a memorization feature. its not really necessary, but doing the opposite, which is like a thunder type vs water, will essentially reduce your damage taken and basically critical hit the enemy if you memorize what they use or guess it properly, yet they do switch it up occasionally, so its never a 100% , its always like a gacha system. just why? besides that and a auto combat for more chill level or material grinding, its a really good game. other ...

Got this in a bundled sale with MHS2. Having a blast so far. I'd been recommended this spin-off series for a while since I love monster taming games, especially cute ones. I love puns and felt welcomed in as soon as the dialogue started. I've been enjoying discovering new eggs and monsties as I go along. I like taking my time and doing subquests as much as possible before progressing, and I love that you can repeat the ones on the board to get more zenny[money] and xp. Haven't gotten too much into the gene manipulation stuff. Seems cool but I haven't felt the need to min/max monsties just yet. I like the gear you can craft to match your monsties and that you can change your appearance if you maybe regretted your decisions during character creation. I'm also not all that interested in the Network Battles, but the story and gameplay have been right up my alley. Rare dens can be pretty exciting when you get something you haven't even encountered yet. I haven't played MSH2 yet, so I don...

I played and beat this game on the google play store back in 2022 after buying the game for 3$ on sale. I am SO happy to see this game and its now evolved series growing into a third title. I bought the google player version before the announcement of stories 2. The graphics were interesting to say the least and the control mechanics were weird needless to say. However this updated version allows controller support from my xbox controller. The graphics are enhanced and the fully fleshed out voice lines are phenomenal. This title deserves a fully developed review. 9/10 for gameplay 6/10 for new updated graphics (was previously a 2/10 on mobile) 7/10 for endgame loop 7/10 for story 10/10 for monsties 9/10 for being able to dress up navirou into stories 2 outfits THANK YOU OVERALL 8/10 - phenomenal game do recommend playing

I've always wanted to have some of the MH monsters as pets 😆 Yes, this does feel like a cooler version of Pokemon for me, but I'm most definitely biased because I love almost every MH game despite their flaws, and for Pokemon, I only ever liked Fire Red/Leaf Green 😅 And even if you don't get much time for gaming anymore cause of life, in this game, you can definitely catch them all✌️

Played Stories about nine times already, which includes on the phone, 3DS, and the Nintendo Switch. Now playing it on the PC, and I have to admit, it's still peak.

Great monster egg collector game. Love the Monster Hunter games for years and having the Monster as partners instead of only hunting them is fun.
