Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood

Can't say enough good things about this game. Music, mission design, and progression are all top tier for a survivors game. Literally wouldn't have known it was a movie companion if I hadn't happened to see previews. Bought it when it was first released and haven't gotten around to it until now. I was definitely missing out. The soundtrack is literally perfection. Buy it and love it. It deserves it.

I'd rate this neutral if I could: in terms of VS clones, it's highly polished but brings very little of its own to the table. What leans this to "no" is simply how many games in the genre I'd recommend ahead of this one.

For a game that is written off as just a copy of Vampire Survivors I think this game stands on its own. TBH though I love Vampire Survivors sometimes I prefer playing this game. I like the game loop it has and that you can attack diagonally with all attacks. Never saw the movie this was based on but I think the characters and stages are well created, it looks good, has a lot of color, and the game loop will make you do "one more run". If you like survivor games and want something a bit different but still very much a survivor game then try out this title!

Can be misleading at first but once you realize micro managing your character at the beginning of a game is important, the game opens up. Very satisfying. Recommend.
