### EN Early Access in the truest sense of the word. Before you buy, read the description and the developers’ note carefully. The game already looks good—the island is striking—and the handling is fun. There’s plenty of potential for more tracks, challenges, and improvements. On top of that, it’s a good, fair price, so it’s easy to see if this is the product for you. I bought it to support development and to appreciate the honest approach to players that’s so rare these days. How many times have developers apologised to us already? It’s time to give a chance to—and support—the honest ones. Developer explicitly says: if you’re not ready for real Early Access, don’t buy. Wait and watch. ### PL Wczesny Dostęp w pełnym tego słowa znaczeniu. Nim kupisz, przeczytaj dokładnie opis i notatkę od deweloperów. Gra już teraz ładnie wygląda, wyspa robi wrażenie, a model jazdy bawi. Duży potencjał na więcej tras, wyzwań i ulepszeń. Do tego dobra, uczciwa ce...
This is more "My Summer Car" than "DRIFTCE but Open World". And thats not a bad thing! That said for 6 euros expect a very rough version of a "car immersive sim" that looks decent and controls well depending on the car (more on that below). Having played the playtest vs now I will base some of my opinions on both versions. The starter car controls really weirdly, I suspect its because it is a FWD but I could be wrong. What i hope ECC does is make 3 or 4 different starter cars and make us chose and use spare money for upgrades. The cars themselves look nice, the damage model got really better from the playtest. The cars I played on previous versions do control great, not simlike but simcade enough to be fun on a Wheel. Characters are basically UE5 metahumans, I am a 3D artist and IF I could Id make custom clothes for them or new assets because frankly Meta Humans have become stale a bit. Maybe a character creator would also work WITH said metahumans but it has been ages since I touc...
Extremely good concept, just SUPER barebones for the moment, there's 4 cars, and one is FWD. The UI is clunky, and there's tons of crashes/bugs, including many gamebreaking ones that require you to delete your save. For now, save your money, just wait for the much-needed basic fixes. Not saying it's a bad game, just really needs some time to come into its own, particularly as it pertains to stability and some much-needed saving features added. EDIT: anyone complaining about negative reviews hasn't played an "early access" game before, and that's okay. I just want this to succeed and become what it clearly can be, therefore I'm sharing my woes.
It's an early access, so I don't expect much, but game has an amazing concept and car physics are great imho, can't wait for ver 1.0.
Puts early back into early access. Read the description carefully and jump in with the right expectations, or wait it out. This is not a game that's a few weeks away from a full release. I chose to get it now because I have faith that ECC Games can do a better job this time around without a publisher.
Like everybody says, it's early access, bare bones for what it is shows a lot of promise where it sits, they got a good damage and physics, as long as they don't bail out, this game will be amazing when it's done.
Came here after watching AR12 Gaming's video. Yes, the game is in early access. Yes, the actual drifting side of it sucks. But this game looks promising and the market has so many different car parts to choose from. The default car is hard to drive, so here's a tune I made: Manual gearbox Uncheck "auto lock breaks on stop" Steering help ratio 0.00 Steer speed 1.0 Steer return speed 5.0 Steering linearity 0.50 Throttle linearity 0.50 Break linearity 4.00 ___ Car drifts better in reverse When driving, gather speed in 1st gear Try to drift staying on 2nd gear as it works better than 1st ___ Of course try your own tunes, but bear in mind, this tune is much better than the games default settings. Happy drifting! :)
This game has a lot of bugs, but that makes sense because it came out last night, it is a very well put together game, so I can see this game being really good in the future, so I'm gonna keep playing and see what it turns into.
Drift Island – Early Access Review
Drift Island is one of those projects where you can clearly see the vision, but it’s still at the very beginning of its journey. The concept is strong: an open island to drive around, drifting feels decent, and the vehicle damage/repair system is actually really interesting. The island itself looks nice, and the core handling shows promise. That said, right now the game is very barebones. There’s no tutorial or introduction—you’re thrown in without guidance. The UI and navigation really need a complete redesign, and the lack of sound effects makes the world feel strangely empty. Deliveries are punishing, the time limits are too tight, and earning money is frustratingly difficult. On top of that, there are only two cars, and the starter is front-wheel drive… in a drift game. That choice alone makes the early experience less fun than it should be. Despite all of this, I want to highlight the developer’s honesty. They’ve bee...
