May 3 2023 I recommend this game because of the direction it is going in, it is being updated weekly so far so there is a commitment from the developer to this game and it has improved greatly since early access release day. Adding jobs to the game was a good idea, the game has a long way to go but you can pick the songs, sample or loop and give it quality then release it to see how well it does, the jobs give you that little extra income and you need every dollar in order to survive in the game by paying rent and buying better equipment. Build up your bank balance to between $1000 and $2000 before buying one cheap item of equipment and stay close to that total as possible when buying items so you can cover paying your rent. I would recommend to the developer that next time release a game into Early Access with more material as the beginning was bare bones and that can kill sales quickly.

After releasing a few hit songs, you can move into a larger studio and buy new equipment. With a new studio and equipment, you will find you dont need to put in as many hours for one song as you used to.

You may find yourself needing a few more dollars for that new computer or to pay for rent. Sign a contract with one of 4 record labels and receive a payment. Be careful, some labels will take advantage of you and take large cuts from your future music.

Every artist needs to market themselves. Select from social media, ads, or a music video. Select the length of time you want to market for, and watch the new fans role in. Some fans are less loyal then others, so keep up the music quality or you may find they start to leave you.

Yes, it’s in the early stages of development and it’s a bit barebones…BUT there is a lot to be excited about! The developer is responsive and collaborative. I asked for Steam Deck compatibility and he actually made it happen on the beta branch of the game within a week or so. Thats not typical and he’s willing to take chances and do something new. That gives me hope for the game. The pinnacle of music business games is still Rockstar! by Wizard Games in 1989. Since then we have had a handful of unique contributions but nothing really found the magic again. This particular game is focused on urban music genres(at least now) from a producer’s viewpoint. That is the unique angle and it’s definitely a potentially great foundation for the game. I’m very excited for the game but I’m not expecting rapid updates or even a masterpiece here. At this point (April 2024) get it only if you want to support the development. Game is still barebones and a lot of features one would expect are not there. However, the developer seems to be active with the community and implementing changes.
i like it but def will need a lot of work but can turn out to be a great game 8/10
