While this is a thoroughly bog-standard Metroidvania, leaning toward the Vania side with a progression borrowed heavily from SotN, I am compelled to recommend it purely due to its spirit (ha). What it lacks in compelling gameplay it makes up for with a truly admirable commitment to the bit. This IS a Metroidvania about Ebenezer Scrooge, set in a world very much inspired by A Christmas Carol. Enemies are unrepentant ghosts with names who you can read about in the menus, and your abilities are given to you by repentant ghosts who are chained to this world by their regrets. I wish this game had more interesting Game in it, but it is a fascinating piece nonetheless.
