Good game just disappointed in how co-op turned out and that was my main draw, a co-op metroidvania. Me and the wife were excited to play co-op only to realize one of us had to be the little dino. The little dino has a MUCH smaller skill tree and less functionality, it just felt like the second player is bolted on.

After 25 hours of this game, and reaching an ending, not 100% yet, I can say that I sincerely enjoy this game. It's a metroidvania/action rpg where you basically kill creatures to level up your skills, unlock abilities, and explore the map to find your family. The premise is simple but the little details and the sense of exploration really kept me going, it's really cool finding new areas between the twist and turns of the primordial jungle, with a lot of the map being blocked organically by obstacles that usually require a bit of thinking or exploration to overcome. If i had to say something negative it's that unlocking a certain thing is a bit tedious, but it only took me an hour to collect what was needed, and the swimming areas of the game really do drag once you've been through them a couple times, very immersive in theory, but in practice a bit of a slog. Overall this was a nice little metroidvania that i'd recommend to fans looking for something similar in gameplay, but u...

This is one of the best games i have played in along time. I just hope there is DLC in the future for this one. Art style and Sound design are 10/10. Game play is fun and rewarding. One bit of constructive criticism, the secret areas need to be more impactful in some way, other than just materials. Also with wide monitors you end up with 1/3 black screen on both sides. All that being said Great game and my hats off to one of the best solo devs and i hope to see more for this game in the future.

I've never reviewed a game on Steam before but I loved this game! The art is charming and rich and the movement and exploration are both very satisfying. It also revealed to me a contradiction with platform fighting that I never realised was there: that just by touching enemies they deal you damage, whereas to cause damage to an enemy you must attack them. This game resolves that by making it so enemies still have to complete an attack to deal you damage, not simply touch you. Along with enemies attacking each other and there being friendly enemies that only defend themselves once attacked, I really enjoyed the "fairness" of the combat. Unlike many others I also didn't mind the vagueness of the map system. It made finding stuff feel like more of a reward, and it was still useful for finding secrets. If I had one criticism it's that the game kind of loses steam towards the end. It would have been nice to have a bigger boss fight and some enemies that presented new challenges ...

This is an awesome game! It reminds me of Primal the TV show. It's loads of fun and I do hope the game creators consider making spinoff or story continuations with this game. Maybe flesh out some of the other village characters, or include other tribes (Good and bad tribes would be cool), and more prehistoric animals! Overall, this was a really fun game and I greatly enjoyed it. Playing it for the second time now too!

Fun little metroidvania that's all about family. Has plenty of upgrades that would be a huge grind if you wanted to get them all, but there is no need to at all. This allows you to diverse your build a bit if you want. The music and art is just wonderful and the overall "story" I enjoyed a lot! There was also no game breaking bugs at all or really, I don't think I ran into a single bug at all. Like the other reviews said, the map could use some love, for example it would be nice if the map had different icons for points of interest that were "completed" vs not or having the secret areas more pronounced when they have been explored vs not. All in all I think this is a great game, maybe not worth the full price unless you truly love metroidvanias, but at a sale price it will be worth it. And if you are a fan of metroidvanias, I would completely recommend it.

Beautiful game! The pixel art, music, and traversal are all fantastic. I spent hours playing the demo and scooped up the finished game as soon as it released. After you complete the initial story sections, the map opens up and you can essentially go wherever you'd like. I really appreciate that the game does not hold your hand too much and lets you explore at your own pace. Important locations are marked on the map, but not in an obtrusive way. The game has some light survival and crafting elements and generally is just a joy to play. You gain skill points through combat and exploration- you absolutely do NOT have to max out your skills to finish the game. There are even options for avoiding some combat, besides just running away. I'd say the game is not challenging overall, which is something I personally enjoy- you won't be bashing your head against the wall trying to defeat a difficult boss or platforming segment. There was a recent update that even lets you ride dolphins, making...

It took me a minute or 2 to get used to the controls, but once I did this game was so much fun, I think the only thing that I had any complaint about would be not knowing where exactly I had to go at the very end of the game. Other than that it was an absolute blast!! Definitely a top side scroller in the past few years
