I cannot recommend this to anybody right now just because whatever rendering pipeline the devs use, they need to stop. The game looks visually terrible and runs abyssmally. On highest settings the game starts burning the GPU and CPU while looking like somebody smeared my screen with butter, it is terribly bad and terribly laggy. There is no viable reason for this, and even on lowest settings it runs pretty badly while also looking terrible. Overall a disaster.

As much as I love the game at the moment I can't recommend it. Unfortuantely the information displayed with the character cards is not clear. They've swapped out actual text for icons and they simply don't explain what the icons do making the game way more complicated and harder than it needs to be
I play co-op with four friends, and we constantly experience desynchronization issues. Yesterday, out of 5 hours of gameplay, we spent 3 hours constantly reconnecting to each other. At the moment, this is the most annoying bug of all. For non-hardcore fans who want to play with friends, I do not recommend buying it at the moment, at least until the developers fix it. A TEMPORARY SOLUTION THAT HELPED US WITH DESYNCHRONIZATION Through trial and error, I figured out how to get around it, and after that, the desynchronization errors disappeared completely for us. Every time someone has a problem with desynchronization, that player must completely delete their local auto-save files for the game. I don't know why шт co-op all players automatically save their progress by default and why they accept their local save as completely accurate, but deleting it completely solved this problem for us.
Game breaks after entering year 3. 40 hours in and our campaign is essentially lost.
Frosthaven is an amazing game, in my opinion considerably better than it's predecessor Gloomhaven and definitely worth it if you like deep (almost puzzle-like) turn-based tactics and meaningful progression of characters and your main base (the Outpost) over the course of a story-rich campaign. Highlights: - The scenarios (levels where the turn-based combat happens) are all very creative, and linked to the ongoing story development through special rules or specific objectives. A scenario can be a simple 'kill all enemies' scenario, but most of the time it is not. And even when it is, it usually has a unique twist to hit. It pays off to take a moment to observe how the scenario rules/objectives fit into to the story as to appreciate the flavour, and maybe predict what may be behind the next door or after the next milestone. - The playable characters (including the 6 starting ones) all have a very unique playstyle. This means that playing with other characters (and switching at some poin...
Do I reccomend it as is? no. But if you enjoyed Gloomhaven there is no reason to think this will not be done just as well. It is somewhat playable at this time, but crashes are still happening frequently.
If you are not familiar with the gloomhaven/frosthaven universe, beware. This game is hard, unforgiving and very difficult to learn. But that's why we are here.
It is very buggy in current state, crashes quite a lot, but what a game. Each class is so intricate and the cards very thematic, a huge step up from gloomhaven in my opinion. Quests can be very tough for new players but very rewarding to finish the tough ones. Great game and I cant wait for all of the classes to come out!
I've played the board game version of Frosthaven for over two years and even in early access this is a very faithful recreation. As far as I can tell it has all the classes and town management and dungeon crawls as the tabletop version. The main story and even a lot of the random event cards are voice acted and I'm sure the rest will get done as the bugs are worked out, the devs have done a great job so far. The only real downside is it's still Frosthaven and several of the missions are brutally, borderline unfairly, difficult and it's a lot harder to fudge things in a video game when you hit a wall.
Great game. Wait for the actual release because there are NUMEROUS game breaking bugs. We have to reload 4-5 times a scenario, and desyncs are common occurrences.
