About This Game

I once heard a story...

There's a marketplace under the mountain where anything can be bought and sold. Visitors wear masks to become faceless strangers. It's home to the unscrupulous, the outcast, and the desperate.

You're one of the desperate.

Strangers with their own secrets and ambitions can show you ways through the market. They'll guide you to your goal, but don't trust them to have your best interests at heart.

Features

🔹First chapter available as a demo, first half of second chapter available in early access.

🔹Choose the protagonist's name, pronouns, and mask.

🔹Four mysterious love interests.

🔹Over 170k words (70k in the demo, 100k in the early access release)

🔹A dark, mature story with many ways to fail.

🔹Timed choices! Or turn them off for an easier game.

🔹Original music by Cajsa.

🔹Use the default, OpenDyslexic, or Atkinson Hyperlegible font for ease of reading.

Characters

Keir - Sarcastic Thief

"When I compliment you — if that ever happens — you’ll know."

Where there is a market, there are thieves. Keir steals to feed hungry mouths, but never forget that to survive at the fringes requires the most ruthless kind of pragmatism.

Cirrus - Humble Priest

"Penance is of the utmost importance here, and I think you'd best keep that soul of yours unblemished."

The church of the Lunar God offers sanctuary to all who come to its doors and Cirrus will give aid to those who request it. But there is no such thing as a gift in the market, and whatever aid Cirrus grants, he will want something in return.

Francesco - Spirited Adventurer

"There are so many sensations I've never felt before, and I'm making it my mission to finally live my life to the fullest!"

Sweet and sun-kissed, people such as him does not typically come to the marketplace. Can you trust this seemingly innocent man, in a place where everyone keeps dark secrets and appearances could be the most misleading of all?

Oleander - Merchant Gadfly

"You want my attention? You've got it, minx. Meet me later and you'll see what that gets you."

A market needs things to sell, and Oleander is happy to provide anything you can ask for, at a price. Hedonic and charming, he makes all his work into games, but he won't say to what end he's playing.

Vesper - Cursed Protagonist

"The people down here have beautiful taste..."

No one goes under the mountain without a good reason. Unfortunately, you have a great reason. Whatever you were aboveground, now is the time to abandon it.

Choose between 3 different masks

Streamer Policy

All information is available on our website, but in short: show as much of the demo content (Chapter 1) as you like, you may stream paid content freely as long as there is commentary, but VODs of paid content should only show ~20% of the script; this currently comes out to approximately 30-60 minutes of material for Chapter 2 total depending on reading speed.

The story may or may not be good, that can be subjective, but having only the LIs (husbandos) have drawings and all the other characters being black silhouettes is the most basic, boring, and lacking in enthusiasm I've ever seen. It's a Ren'py game, so whether it's made by 1, 3, 10, 150 people, are you going to tell me you can't draw 2 or 3 villagers, your 2 or 3 recurring characters, and your romantic interests??? I mean, there are at most 10 sprites, and that's not even mentioning the same backgrounds used over and over again... backgrounds that really have no detail and could easily be AI at this point and then the Ren'py basic (untoched) menu.. Cant talk much about the music rly, it started nice but the loop was too fast so having the same song over and over in loop make me want to scratch my ears out so i decide to mute the sound...i think it needs another warning, for the sound loop after 30 seconds.. Too lazy, close to cashgrab.

A fantastic game. Characters so good you still love them even when you hate them. Complex love interests. Oleander is my favorite! A MC that holds their own. Well written. Atmospheric music. Creative use of the medium--it can be quite disturbing actually. I highly recommend this. Tons of replay value.

I've played Cirrus, Keir, and Francesco's routes so far and I love the different options and endings! Even with just 2 chapters! I'm particularly partial to Cirrus, who is easily one of the scariest motherfuckers I've seen since Griffith Berserk. Cirrus himself is a warning, but you can't help but be drawn in by his otherworldly demeanour. Every single interaction with him set off warning bells, but ones that felt so far away that I, the wool pulled over my eyes and ears, didn't want to think twice about. Oh, but I did. So when I continued leaning into Cirrus, playing his games, I felt genuinely insane. That man has me in a chokehold and his dialogue makes me breathe like it too. SO very excited to see how things continue. Can't say enough good things about the Cirrus route. It's fucking scary hot. If you're a more reasonable person, then there are other routes. ;) One thing that sticks out is that Keir gives me Skyrim Thieves Guild vibes. Like if you were dating a more cynical ver...

I walked into this game not knowing what to expect. I adore VN and I'm always looking for the kind with more mature story and content but sometimes they aren't as advertised. And this one being EA? I was a bit skeptical. Still, I took the leap and bought it. I have to say, I'm glad I did. In two chapters I was already moved to tears on just one route. The story has a unique backdrop and the art is lovely. I can genuinely say I'm looking forward to seeing how this VN evolves and unfolds. The even more wonderful thing is that the VN has built in a SafeSpace for players due to the nature of some of the themes encountered. Such a meaningful inclusion.
