this game is a poor example for not just rugby games but all games you cant play with anything but an xbox controller the input doesnt work you click a button it doesnt listen i must of lost the ball in a ruck 50 times because of this even though ive played one game extremely tacky overpriced not even all the rugby teams i'd play a better game of rugby if i played fifia and because the games takes take 5 years to load i cant refund it because when i went to it said ive played 61 minutes so i couldnt refund it thats my pocket money gone for the next month
spent money on licences instead of actually developing the game
In its current state, Rugby 25 shows glimpses of potential, especially in graphics, licensing, and sheer content breadth, but remains held back by underwhelming core gameplay. Reviews praise the visual fidelity—player likenesses and stadiums have never looked better—and the extensive licensing offers dozens of international teams, leagues, and competitions to explore. This aligns with your view that the game is improving with updates; indeed, developers have released several patches since launch that address specific mechanics like kicking and ruck behavior. Yet, despite those surface positives and ongoing fixes, the consensus remains that Rugby 25 falls short as a rugby simulation at full price. Many reviews characterize the gameplay as clunky, buggy, and frustrating—scrums, rucks, and lineouts are often poorly implemented, passing feels inconsistent, and AI quirks sap the fun . On Steam, the game's review standing is still “Mostly Negative,” with “Very Negative” holdin...
Unfortunately it's just not there in terms of game play. The bones are there but the final product is just not great. It's a starter though and I hope for future editions that will get better and better. It just seems really hard to make a rugby game
elo game dont even bother
The gameplay is unplayable and you can't even have fun editing players or rosters which removes a lot of potential fun from the game from a sports simulation aspect. What's the point of this game aside from a bit of false hope? It's nice you have all the licenses. You can put lipstick on a pig its still a pig. Rugby game developers need to take some hints from Rugby 08. It's only been 17 years and they still haven't figured it out.
Face scans look good, seems they spent the budget on licensing rather than gameplay and actual graphics.
shit
bought it on steam sale for 24 pounds / $50AUD. Not worth it at all, they spent all the money on licensing for clubs and comps but the gameplay is trash. From what i've heard its come a long way from launch but the consistent game breaking bugs are cooked! 79th minute in a career match and the ruck just freezes and no penalty, i left the game running for awhile and after an hour of in game stoppage time (140mins) i just closed the app and had to replay the match. For a game that retails for $100 its pathetic. I fking HATE EA the slimy dogs but i'd still prefer them to make a new rugby game rather than playing another Nacon game fuck me.
