The premise is to command an army of up to 1000 units in battle, but in reality you'll just give them marching orders from a map screen and then watch as that all goes out the window as soon as they see the enemy anyway. You can't issues orders in mid-combat, other than telling nearby enemies to be offensive or defensive. No flanking manoeuvres, heck, not even the ability to retreat. You do get to take to the battlefield as a super powered unit, but your gameplay will consist of holding down left click to attack and slowly walking forward - and no, the combat isn't anywhere near Dynasty Warriors levels of satisfying.
