Blind and Schizophrenic

As the first ever, Blind and schizophrenic player I got some issues 1. The game doesn't even fucking work, I had to find OPENAL32.dll online somewhere to get the game to run 2. It says listen so that you can navigate your way, very interesting concept if the audio would actually play 3. Nothing makes sense????? I mean its funny but it tells you to talk to the hobo, I do and then I instantly die???? I am the first but not the second. I was hoping that this may be playable by someone who is visually impaired, with claims that the main part of the game was audio based. Well I made it out of what I assume was a room and then assume I wandered into the road and was run over. The sound is not directional oh well. No text to speech At least the text is white on a black background so could make it out with magnifier. Overall it does succeed at showing what would happen to a blind person if they were having audio hallucinations, they wouldn't last long if they left the safety of their home. So it is realistic. It cost very little so I guess I can't complain too much. Give it a go see if you can work it out.

The game's premise was simple: the player assumed the role of a person with both blindness and schizophrenia, trying to navigate their way through a daily chores such as; getting medication or Talking to the homeless. while dealing with auditory and visual hallucinations, and I soon found myself completely engrossed in the game's immersive and challenging world. After i had played 2 hours of it, I was struck by the game's thoughtful portrayal of mental illness. It didn't feel like a cheap gimmick or a marketing ploy, but rather a genuine attempt to explore what it might be like to live with these conditions. This "Progenitor" publisher might as well drop the "Works" from their brand name, or replace the first word with "Dream" and start fishing for a new job, because only a blind schizophrenic would release such hogwash in this time and age and have the nerve to tag it with "Action-Adventure". Maybe they belong to an older demographic such as Millennials or Generation X and have lower standards for realism in works of digital entertainment, but that is no excuse to be this lazy and craft such an outdated and poorly constructed game. Oh well, at least it's 1$ (American Dollar) - but considering all the flaws and defects, it pushes it way below the standards PC gamers have come to expect and it's impossible to recommend.

Blind and Schizophrenic is terrible, interesting, but terrible. And because I am blind enough to see that everyone else has made legitimate reviews and am schizophrenic enough to know that my review will matter here are my thoughts in a more objective manner than other reviews that have been posted so far. The gameplay is simple, get from point A to point B to get respect and money, then run out of things to do, followed by [spoiler]committing terrorism (yes really). You have some controls to work with that are all very easy to grasp: Move, Smoke Weed (heal), Fire AK (gain respect points over time), Arm Bomb, and Detonate Bomb (end game, gain respect points).[/spoiler] (I am not even sure I am allowed to talk about that in reviews, but the game is allowed on Steam, so it would be a little hypocritical if it was.) I bought it for less than 1€ and so I will not bother refunding it. However, be mindfull that it is worth less than that.
