Despite it's old age and god awful account setup, this MMO really holds up today. Especially if you like to play hardcore. I've only been playing for a while and recently got back into it, but I'm so immersed with the world and story that I can't stop myself from playing more. The game was obviously meant to be played with other players in your party but the trust system and other modern updates make solo playing possible and a lot easier. The game is very difficult to explore and progress through with little to no hints or guides on what to do and where to go for quests and story progression. Back in the day, players relied heavily on the community and physical guides just to get an idea of what to do, from what I was told. XI will not hold your hand like XIV does.
