Okay, against some of the bad reviews I bought the game and played it on the Index... Seemed to be a brave decision reading all the feedback. But it was not as bad as I thought it might be. I even give it a good review now though it still has some "problems". First of all: Yes, the hand orientation is wrong for Index players, the usual "approx 45° misalignment" we see in some games, I am astonished THIS repeating misalignment is still a thing. It would be nice the devs would simply adjust this instead of giving a calibration feature, BUT the calibration feature is not as bad and as complicated as some think and wrote about. You do not even have to "reach" the virtual hands or put your hands into them, just stay in your position and hold your hands up into the air in the orientation shown before you and press the trigger, done. It was no problem playing the game with this calibration change. Though the calibration does not get saved, you need to do this again after a complete restart,...

Very surprised with this game in the purest resident evil style. I have completed the game and I enjoyed it very much, you can tell that the developers have put a lot of care and care in this indie game. I wanted to play it since I saw it on PS5 and I have waited for the PCVR version to play it. I have used MetaQuest3 to play it and I have not had any problem during my game. I highly recommend this game especially if you like the horror genre. It has a lot of interactive elements and puzzles. And you will have to run for your life on more than one occasion!!! I had some scary momments here! Score: 9/10 My gear: MetaQuest 3
The controllers from the Valve Index cannot be used for this game
The height of the player is ALWAYS wrong for me. The game does not give me an option to change that and also this is one of the extrem rare cases where OVR Advanced settings could also not fix it (The playspace in SteamVR is moving but without any changes in the game). Sadly, therefore for me unplayable even it looked really promising. Also no other VR game ever, forced me to use a "hand calibration", because the defaullt position is twisted. Thats really the first time is see that kind of problem and hand-calibration option in any VR game. Using a Quest3 with VirtualDesktop. Devs please fix that and I will come back again, but with the current problems I cannot recommend it.
Doesn't really play well with Steam VR or virtual desktop. Only way I could get this to play was to connect directly to PC via the cable. even then, unless I loaded it up using the Oculus app, the controllers are in the wrong orientation for the hands. Well, I did manage to play was ok. but I can't be bothered to get the cable out every time. So I just haven't gone back to it.
I truly want to like this game because it seems like it has a ton of potential, but I find the flashlight mechanics to be a deal-breaker. Every time I grab anything, with either hand, the flashlight flies into that hand... no matter how far away it is, or the orientation of my hand. I was too frustrated to continue playing. I will look for an update in the future before I return the game. Please fix this NoxNoctis. I'm rooting for you.
good graphics and linear gameplay, it's scary but also lets you explore to go around the house without jumpscares, as there isn't a map it's difficult to settle in and forget about the unlocked shortcuts.
My thoughts on the game is as follows. Visuals are great. Controls are good but the hands are off set and pointing way to hi but it does not effect gameplay at all. The sound is done really well scaring you at the proper times. The story was done really well along with the voice acting. The puzzles are not terribly difficult and some i figured out by accident but they are decent puzzles. The only issue i had was the length and the price. I played for a little over 4 hours but you can go straight through the game in a little over an hour. I will recommend this game when it goes on sale for sure. AT $30 that is a little steep for such a short game. A well done game but short for that kind of price.
Game does not work with Index controllers - hands are totally misaligned - but there is a tool in the game to change hand alignment, and you have to do this every time you start the game. Devs should fix this. There is no Index finger tracking. Also Index controllers lack a menu button. The game also feels too dark for lcd - feels like a game optimized for oled. Maybe a great game for Rift CV1 users.... If you can accept these shortcomigs, the game is not bad, even if also not great. More like a 5-6/10 rating. EDIT: I just dusted off the great old Rift CV1, and with that hmd the game works flawlessly. I can see so many things I could not with lcd - and controllers and menu buttons now work perfectly. The game supports Meta OpenXR, so performance is optimal with Rift CV1. I do wonder if this game has been in development for so long that the devs originally used oled hmds (orig Vive, Vive Pro, Rift CV1 and Quest 1) - or maybe they optimized the game for PSVR2, which also uses oled.
