EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6

Its a worse EDF 5, even though many of the mechanics are improved for the classes. The story is worse, the investment in characters basically non-existent, and the multiplayer is so buggy and jittery (it doesnt use steams servers like EDF5 did for stability) that its actively frustrating to play.

EDF 6 is pretty good but I prefer EDF 7. EDF 8 is even better however.

Excellent game as always. This is made even better by the fact that they fixed the EGS requirement. No more spyware! Tons of value for your dollar and huge fun with friends. Get in here and defend the Earth!

Too many complaints about the story. Shoot bug. Shoot bot. Shoot Squid. Get gun. Good game.

ANOTHER GREAT ENTRY, MORE ALIEN MADNESS!!!! smarter enemies, new types , new weapons, more wing diver fun for me, new levels, new cheesy dialogue, new EDF

Probably the only good game that was released(in English) in 2024. Giving the Wing Diver a saber is probably the coolest thing about this game, and this game is already a big ol' box of cool things for cool dudes. Only subhumans lacking a frontal lobe dislike EDF.

So ummm.. when's the next one?

EDF 6 is an earth defense force game, a crazy load of weapons, plenty of vehicles, way too many enemies on screen than legally should be allowed at one time, hilarious voice actors, hopeless ai compadres, overly explosive buildings, challenging and *buggy* experiences, bugs, bugs, alien frogs?, robots, and ridiculously addictive gameplay. In short, if you buy EDF, you should know what you are getting into. They create, repeat, and play like the best of them. The storyline is pretty nervewracking this time around, and the forced unskippable cutscenes will make you annoyed. But the gameplay is what you were asking for since you first went from diaper to keyboard (or controller respectively), a fun game for adults, children, and those who just want to blow things up to avoid the stressors of life.

I prefer EDF 5 (EDF 5 is great). They made the world so drab in this, and the world/story is so depressing. The new enemy types in EDF 6 are ganglier than previous games making them more difficult to hit - thus more serious and less fun. EDF 5 (and 4.1) were so much better in tone and the "all-is-lost" tone was only in the later missions, and was framed as a last stand. EDF 6 starts with the world screwed and then has the story returning to the world being screwed multiple times, making what you do feel hopeless. They reworked the weapon categories for the classes. Notably, the stationary weapons for the Air Raider is moved to the Ranger, which makes the Air Raider much worse. I can no longer strap them to my vehicle and move them about, I need to rely on jank guns such as the limpet guns, which feel like ass. IIRC, they allow you to bring more weapons, which offsets this a bit, but playing Air Raider in particular feels bad (not as bad as EDF 4.1 though).
