Secrets of the Witch House is challenging, your not going to beat this the first go round, but the procedurally generated levels makes permadeath less annoying and re spawning more rewarding. I keep saying just one more game. Its the little things that will have you falling on the ground laughing or crying but always tipping your hat to the developer. The unique weapons all make you want to solely use them, continually finding a new favorite weapon. I will find out what the dark secret is at the bottom of this place.

Fun title with rogue-like ingredients including procedural level generation, permadeath and resource management, but minus the turn-based nature and twisted into an action FPS. Quick and easy to pick up and play, SOTWH isn't punishing just for the sake of being punishing. Unlike certain other games this game feels (for me) like it could be beatable - one day. The game never takes itself too seriously. How can it with a weapons arsenal that includes lasers and nukes? The writing style is humorous, and the game somehow manages that Spelunky-like achievement of making you smile when you die. Talking of Spelunky - there's also shopkeepers and a pachinko game. I love the low polygon art style - there may only be few polys but they have all been well-crafted showing high attention to detail and loving nods to various horror tropes embedded throughout the background scenery. In my opinion, SOTWH is worth the asking price and importantly provides an enjoyable return on the investment of m...

Great game with a lot of character! Enter the Witch House and slaughter your way into the depths of ... well, find out for yourself. Every run is different and the weapon variety keeps things fresh. Easy to pick up and packs a solid challenge with a charming style and sense of humor. 10/10 would pachinko again!

"A pile of a thousand corpses starts with a single body" and that single body will be yours. Be aggressive, be smart, and you just might make it through to the end. Or you can throw away all your money trying your luck at pachinko. Godspeed and good luck Dr. Jones

Really cool little game with a unique visual style. The destruction is very well done and fun. Character movement is smooth and feels great.

Not a deep game but fun for a few hours, it's one of those games you play when you have an hour or so to kill. The gameplay took me around 10 minutes I to get used to but then became a lot of fun. Overall a nice and short game, with an art style that is pleasant to look at, that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

A lot of potential here and I really wanted to like it but it missed the mark for me. It's tagged as a rogue-lite but I did not encounter any meta progression of any sort. Quickly got bored when I realized it's kind of a run through once and you're done game. The movement feels a little wonky which I think is on purpose. I liked the movement but also hated it at the same time because of optimization issues and the game not running as smoothly as it should. Was waiting for this to go on sale before buying it but even at the 50% off it didn't feel worth the price.
