Overall I think TerraScape is a beautiful puzzle game that suffers from the requirement of too much forethought and future knowledge. So many aspects of success and progression are tied to knowing how buildings merge or interact with each other, which makes the early to mid-game unrewarding and a pain with little variety in building placement. [h3]The Decks, Planning & Trading[/h3] The Deck system can work when dealt a good set of cards but most of my time I was given cards that aren't useful or cards that reinforced repetitive play. The Deck system also has a major problem when gaining access to new decks, in that important earlier cards rarely appear even if required for late game built paths. Future sight & planning is not always the answer to this problem when said cards aren't pulled in quantity or for some reason you keep getting Wells that offer little to no points to begin with, even more so in the late game. TerraScape has the cozy feel of click and place but with the advanced feature of combining tiles in certain patterns to upgrade your efforts and get more points. As you play you get introduced to cards that can help edit anything you've already placed, or improve the base tile output altogether. I really enjoy the slight skill/difficulty level in being strategic about where and how you place your city cards, but it still keeps that relaxed and enjoyable feeling without aggravation or confusion.

great game love the potential and the improvements it has done over similar games, unfortunately it has inexcusable performance issues for something that at a glance should run fine on a 15 year old pc (and I'm using a ryzen 7 6800h 16gb of ddr5 and a 3050ti)

A peaceful game about placing tiles to build a thriving settlement. I enjoyed how low stakes it all is. It's also very satisfying to combine buildings and get diamond rated placements. It's a good game to decompress to.
