Exploring, strategizing, and forging alliances with the local wildlife will be crucial to emerge victorious from the many challenges lying ahead.

Unconventional legions with which to wage war
  • Shape your strategy by choosing your roster wisely: starting, support, and super-predator legions.
  • Upgrade your nest’s tier to access new and stronger legions. Will you opt for the defensive Snail or the mobility of the Rhino Beetles?

Special abilities for victory
  • Scare the enemy away, reinforce your units, or spy on your opponents: your chosen pheromones forge your offensive—or defensive—strategy.

Conquer and upgrade outposts
  • Adapt your strategy by building the right chambers: build your economy, manage your legions, gather Information on the battlefield, gain new Powers, or strengthen your Defense.
  • Not enough space? Conquer other nests to expand your territory and get stronger.

Dominate the online cross-platform ranked multiplayer
  • Challenge your friends in thrilling skirmishes or prove your strategy skills in player-versus-player mode: ranked 1-vs.-1 matchmaking and three free-for-all matches. Custom Private Lobby available to train your skills against a friend or AI.

An immersive solo campaign
  • Play through a 20-hour-long campaign inspired by Bernard Werber’s bestselling saga, where the fate of your colony rests upon your antennae.
  • Choose your way to play, whether you’re looking for strategic combat and challenges or you prefer exploring the environment and fast-paced tactical missions.

Skirmish
  • Hone your strategic skills and practice against 1 or 2 AI in offline mode.

Master AI player setting
  • Reacts swiftly and strategically, using pheromone powers. The advanced AI processes situations faster than usual, adapting seamlessly to real-time changes and employing powers for a challenging gameplay experience.

Empire of the Ants: A Glorious Family Trip to Crashville Installed it—smooth as butter. The family was packed, the car was gassed, and we were ready for an epic adventure in the insect kingdom. First launch: long scenic route to the main menu. Kids were getting restless. Crashed right before we could pick our destination. Second launch: made it to the menu, started story mode, BAM—car broke down just outside Tutorial Town. Third try: made it in! Climbed a stick, took a heroic leap… right off the map and into the eternal void. Crash. Fourth attempt: green screen. Nothing else. Just pure chlorophyll. Aunt Edna’s probably buried under it. At this point, Cousin Eddie is trying to debug the game with a flyswatter, the kids are chanting “refund,” and I’m wondering if we just dreamed the whole ant empire thing. Great premise, beautiful aspirations, but this vacation ain’t roadworthy yet. At this point, the queen's missing, the workers are rioting, and Uncle Larry’s stuck...

I was looking for some spiritual successor to SimAnt, and this really hit the spot! It's got more strategy to it, but SimAnt is pretty easy nowadays anyway so that's fine. It also has gorgeous graphics... like, so much looks photo-realistic, but it doesn't chug like some other UE5 games. The tutorial was also great at teaching all the mechanics EXCEPT how to sprint, that gets pretty important in later levels.

i can only say it looks nice; but its a flawed game, mechanics are weak and obring, not worth full price or even 10$

Graphics and music are incredible and the engine is very smooth, but the gameplay is not fun. Missions are either repetitive or insanely hectic, devolving to constantly running (or burrowing) around. If the gameplay could be tweaked, e.g. allowing nest management remotely, or a birds eye view to control / position legions in battle, this might help, but won't change the fact that the core gameplay is very basic and repetitive. At least the harder battle missions would be playable + enjoyable. As it is, I would skip the missions and only play it to wander around the bases and enjoy the beautiful graphics engine and music which are both really fantastic. But that's nowhere near worth $40 IMO

The graphics in this game are good, better than you are thinking. I see some complaints about crashes, with a 3090 and i7 I have not had any with max settings on 4K. The gameplay is not difficult, it consists of a mix of Pikmin with ant levels and 3D platforming/exploration levels. I recommend this game just based on the pure graphical excellence and polish, even if it is a bit on the pricy side. Had to post a positive review because I think you would have to be insane to post a negative review for an indy game with this level of polish and very clear effort put into it.
