I think the game has been very interestin' thus far. The first near hour that I've spent with it has been tense. The game does not rely on jump scares but instead it uses tension and some world building. Gameplay here: https://youtu.be/U3UT_Qa96kw

About This Game

Pyramis is a H.R Giger & retro-scifi-inspired survival horror game, that will bring back the genre to its roots and modernize it in the process. The game is driven by its story, beautiful environments, exploration, and horrific themes. Pyramis contains non-linear exploration of most levels but mainly focuses on completing the central narrative. The game combines the combat of hardcore survival horror games with the stealth of non-combat horror, where your best choice is to hide, and allows the player to switch between play styles dynamically. This paired with 6 hours of gameplay, autonomous enemy AI and weapon customization will insure gameplay that is unique to every individual player. Pyramis also includes a replayable survival mode once the story mode is completed!
Pyramis takes place in the year 2011, following the life of Paul Cook, an Airforce Lieutenant who goes AWOL in Antarctica looking for his older brother Walter. An SOS signal his helicopter radio receives leads him to uncover a hidden world that lies beneath the earth's crust and the true reason why his superiors restricted him from contact with his long-lost brother Walter. You will embark, on a simple mission to find Walter but soon find yourself fighting to save your own life in the archaic dimension, and make it back to the surface alive. Along the way, different characters will guide you through the alien world with the same goal of getting to the surface.

What I liked: + The atmosphere is tense, darkness is dark, you can sneak past enemies + Good pacing, if you get stuck there are points of interest in the notepad which should help + Fairly short (6 h), doesn't have filler locations, items are limited + Audio What bothered me were mostly small things: - No separate audio sliders for SFX, dialogue - only master volume and music - Tutorial room which has like 5x5 metres and takes 20 seconds to complete had the lowest fps compared to the rest of the game with same settings - weird - I would prefer to have better area transitions - hold use button instead of click for example or make it clear that the door are area transitions (not all were marked with text) - Clunky weapons equiping - For completionists: Survivor mode and 1000 kills achievement (must be done in one try, not cumulative) will test your PC to the limit, you have to abuse AI and the game is not really optimized to have up to 80+ of AI pathing to your location an...
I gave this game many chances because of small problems like when you go through a "loading screen door" you always spawn backwards looking at the door you came out and it's confusing but you're getting used to problems like this. What i'll never get used of is that the game saves only your progress, not your ammo and meds and stuff. You shoot one bullet to a monster and you die. When you respawn that bullet you fired is gone.I came very far in game but i ran out of bullets fighting a horde of monsters and guess what.Right after that there is a boss to fight! And i have no faking bullets. That's where my patience ran out and uninstalled the game.I can't believe no one mentioned the game's biggest problem. It is a great shame because it has awesome setting and music, both scary and breathtaking.
The developer of this and Nebraska has a style that I like. They both remind me of the Penumbra series. I liked the world design and sound effects. It has some good scares and is soaked with atmosphere. I enjoy these lower budget indie games and have played quite a bit of them. If that’s your flavor then you might enjoy this. FOV slider is included (THANK YOU!!) It does have some issues though. You cannot customize controls at all (I use Synapse and iCUE to get around this), the invert mouse option is broken and resets to off after each load screen. I provided an ini fix in the community hub for this. Stealth seems to be broken and I found myself sprinting through areas to advance, combat is VERY WEAK and broken which is a shame. I kept losing ammo for no reason, when you die and reload you LOSE all the ammo you spent and there were no direct crosshairs or iron sites to aim…very strange. The game ran smooth but damn did it run my 3080 hot at 60fps. I hope the developer keeps maki...
Really awful performance. My rig isn't Nasa level but I can run most titles on the highest settings with no issue, meanwhile it was lucky if I got over 45 fps on the lowest settings in this game. Combine that with a nauseating camera and generally boring gameplay and I just cant find myself recommending this game, despite its interesting premise.
Wasn't expecting much from this game. I was surprised and truly enjoyed it. Good job ! Looking forward to future projects.
I’ve given this game a recommend because I had fun playing it. That might not be the case for you, so keep reading if you’d like to know more.

First, the general setting and inspiration of the game is sold as being based on H.R. Giger. Not going to dispute this, but I will say that despite this inspiration, the game largely takes place inside sci-fi hallways and bunkers and only really goes full on (biomass kind of all over the place aside) at the very end. I’m not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing, but for the most part the Giger elements appear to be very limited or over-used to the point of just being a thing you walk beyond rather than stop to admire. It’s present, but it kind of feels like it’s taking the backseat a lot of the time. Speaking of stopping to admire things, you better hope that it’s in a well-lit area because otherwise you’re wasting the absolutely limited supply of your flashlight’s battery. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to ...
Nice athmosphere, okay visuals. Not much to combat. A bit boring. More like a walking sim then survivol horror (wich is in the tags)
Unfortunately this game is extremely unpolished. It needed a lot more time to smooth-out many things like movements, text sizes, lighting, menus etc. As someone who plays on controller and avoids keyboard/mouse combo (because I can't arch forward to play with them), I was highly disappointed that this game does not have a proper controller support. The Steam load-out doesn't work much. The Story looked good but I just could not play beyond a few levels because the controls were becoming annoying.
The game tries very hard to be Penumbra (get stranded in an underground secret facility in the middle of a snow storm ; blue-tinted night vision ; point and click interaction system...). The atmosphere is there, the "puzzles" too, I guess. And... the 20-year-old graphics, too. However, that doesn't stop the game from running like absolute ass. With an RTX 4060, I had 60 fps in the tutorial room, and the camera felt AWFUL to look around with. Oddly enough the rest of the game runs better than the tiny tutorial room (I think that's because said room must have a ridiculously high number of polygons, looking at the shape of the walls and floor...). Can't even hit 144fps @1080p despite the graphics looking as outdated as they do. If you've got an old rig, you might want to give this game a pass. They put a 1060 as the minimum required GPU, but you'll probably have to lower the resolution a lot in order to run the game at a playable framerate... Overall not a good first impression. I'm cu...
