A beautifully engaging urban fantasy investigation.
I really loved this. Couldn't put it down and finished it over just three evenings. Daemon Masquerade is the boiled down essence of investigation gaming. There's no "adventure game" foolishness of walking from room to room, clicking on tree stumps and mouseholes to try to find the clues. Here, the clues are all laid out right in front of you. It's up to you to examine them closely, think critically, and make sense of everything. Did you ever read Death Note? I was reminded of that a lot, certainly not as a direct ripoff but as a story about learning a set of strict supernatural rules and achieving objectives within those rules. If you've played "escape room" type VNs, like the Nonary Games, you will feel a similarity there too: characters trapped in a weird situation, using the rules of the world to try to make it to the end. The narrative here is more linear, but just how you reach the finale i...

About This Game
Midnight, September 5th, 1997.
The reclusive Detective Lambda and the Daemon of Records, Biblios, are the 7th and final pair of contestants in the 93rd Daemon Masquerade. Charged with uncovering the names and Daemonic powers of the other six competitors, they have only 7 days to unmask their opponents, or else they will be erased from existence. To make matters worse, it seems their adversaries are willing to kill to protect their identities. It's time for the ultimate battle of wits!
Daemon Masquerade is a supernatural detective game inspired by anime like Death Note and Fate/stay night, and games such as the Ace Attorney series.
Organize the Evidence
Meticulously sort the clues on your pinboard however you see fit. Do you prefer the neat orderly rows of a professional detective, or the scattered piles of a conspiracy theorist?
Annotate your Thoughts
There's no need to fetch a pen and paper, scribble your notes directly onto the evidence!
Deduce the Truth
The Thread of Logic deduction system allows you to solve cases in multiple ways, just as long as you've got the facts to back up your theories.

It's a pretty good small game that is worth some more exposure. It's not particularly long, but paced in the way you can play it leisurely, without rushing. If you liked Godlen Idol, you will like it. The ending and final puzzle are a bit under-cooked, but the 99% of the game is solid. Not for $15 though, maybe for $10.
Fun deduction game, definitely had to think but nothing too convoluted! I did find the comic book style charming, but it wasn't enjoyable having to click through the same panels many times.
Enjoyed the game! If you like The Roottrees are Dead, that's the game for you.
Not terrible. It's kinda like a dumbed down Golden Idol. The pinboard style of presenting and organizing evidence works fine and there is some decent world building going on. My biggest gripes are: 1. It's way too easy. It feels almost mindless if you're coming from Obra Dinn or Golden Idol. 2. The dialogue is kinda cringe Also the art is wild. Be prepared for the bulging genitalia of the gender ambiguous. I guarantee you this person draws furry porn or some other niche erotica and it definitely creeps into this game. The veiny pillowcase and bedding is especially hilarious.
A fun, quick research detective game with an interesting supernatural hook.
This was a challenging and fun game. Reminiscent of The Roottrees, Obra Dinn, etc. There's little hand-holding involved, and the deductions make sense. Would recommend.
I don't often do steam reviews of games but honestly I just had to with this one, it would be a huge disservice to everyone who worked on this game. First off, the puzzles are challenging but not too difficult, the game technically doesn't offer hints, not in the typical way which I really enjoyed as I didn't have a quick and easy fall back when I got stuck I actually had to use my own brain, and attempt a different solution myself. Some indentities are easier than others to figure out than others for me I don't know if that's actually how its meant to be or I'm just a little dim ahahah Secondly, and the main reason for me deciding to do a review is the story. WOW its beautiful, it's so well thought out, I of course won't spoil anything but the twists are amazing, the main story of your character is something you have to read of course, but once you've figured out the other players you really don't have to keep looking at their evidence boards but I recommend you do, it really ...
Evidence rearranging is incredibly satisfying and I liked the big book of Daemons. The logical deductions were largely intuitive, though I admit to needing a nudge from the walkthrough section a couple of times. I also really appreciated the late 90s setting -- the not technically Scholastic book catalog was a big treat for me to skim through! Great game, would absolutely play another game with a similar structure.
A nice, tidy game about using deductive reasoning to find identities. In the vein of other deduction games like Golden Idol, Obra Dinn, Roottrees are Dead, etc. This game is a little on the shorter side, but deserves to be mentioned with those others. I really enjoyed the setting and world in particular.
