Buy it so the studio can make more. Not a sandbox or tech demo but a full fledged video game. Real impressive stuff on a gameplay and technical level. The environment is good looking, game runs smooth, and theres plenty to explore despite the overwhelming linearity. Gameplay consists of traversing levels, flipping switches to reach other areas, and fighting enemies along the way. Theres only a handful of enemies but they're crafted with attention to difficulty and detail. Enemies aren't pushovers in that they'll all attack you at once and with frequency making combat a tense dance of managing sightlines while holding off enemies in melee range. Enemies have easily recognizable silhouettes to make decision making easy. If there was anything to compare it to it would be Infinity Blade. Enemies telegraph attacks, you swipe in the direction of their blade, and they open up for attacks. This is while encroaching enemies fire upon you. It works very well most of the time and is always ch...

Loved this game!! Best vr game i've played since Alyx!!
An absolute VR must play. The level design is extremely inspired, and there's a depth of environmental detail you just dont find in other games (with the only notable exception being half life alyx).
SPECTACULAR VR GAME! Am 23 hours in and loving it! The combat is a blast, the environments bright and complex and techno cool and the enemies are challenging. Oh, and really enjoy the weapons and the upgrade paths - which completely change how you play as you try different configs. Playing on a Quest 3 with cable to my gaming laptop - and it runs near flawlessly. Devs - bravo team! So impressive! Thank you for your creative efforts!
An incredibly fun game, one of the best "big budget" VR games out there, the game is fun in the beginning, but as you get further a long, the maps gets more interesting, giving a feel of the old school games like Doom and Duke Nukem, but also the original half-life. My only major complaint is that after some 8-10 hours you have to face lots of large enemies and they are just boring to fight, they take a huge amount of shots to the head to bring down. And personally having these very bullet spoongy enemies is a major let down, the regular enemies already take a lot of hits even with upgraded weapons. I run around with a sniper rifle, I get 2 shots in the mag, and I can take down regular enemies with 1-4 shots. I use it at range but also in close quarters, as it's the only gun that takes down regular enemies in a few shots, sniper in one hand, Sword/axe/mace in the other. Even with this aspect it's still an amazing game, you want to explore, you want to get the various stuff to unlo...
I guess this is a hidden gem? Easily one of the best VR games out there, and would be a solid addition to any VR library. Rocking a 4070 RTX / i712600 and graphically it looks really great, and runs smooth on my Vive Vision Focus. When i set all the in-game graphics to high / max it really popped. No issues with controllers, and in fact most of the haptics are intuitive (especially if you've already gamed HL:A) and the climbing mechanic is the best in VR. Combat is generally fun, and can be pretty intense. The ability to impale and execute feels rewarding with the parry mechanics included. Guns are cool...love the bow with the exploding arrows, but you'll need to progress through the story and explore the various zones to get all the good stuff. Crafting health syringes is honestly really fun to do, since you get to use a blowtorch. ARKEN AGE is a high quality VR gaming experience, and i'm really looking forward to what this studio does next. I highly recommend.
visuals are great and combat is good but literally why is the audio so horrifically bad, you can never win with vr games I swear, everything sounds like your ear is up against 7 cm of plaster before it reaches the driver, its actually dreadful. I know its not my input device because the music and narration is fine, crystal clear, its just in game sfx and enemy noises are cooked. also I literally couldn't make this up but I'm 99 percent sure one of the background songs is just a slightly (and I mean slightly) altered version of harvest dawn from elder scrolls oblivion, you will know when you hear it, you will know.
Quest 3. Menu system in this game is great. My first real VR game with quest controllers. It seems very intuitive and fun to play. I have to play sitting down as I almost fell standing. Works well sitting on the edge of the sofa, but will not work sitting reclined. I can play maybe 40 minutes or so. The game seems designed to be played in chunks as though the devs knew how vr is.
Incredibly well made VR title. The combat feels good, the graphics are great and the game is fun. Theres not a lot of weapon variety but the guns and sword you have can be upgraded which changes how they work so there is actually more variety than it seems. Perhaps my personal favorite part of the game is the attention to detail in the body. Your arms move like they should, theres no weird elbow movements and it makes you feel very grounded in the world. I cant wait to see what the devs work on next.
It's not bad. As far as VR games go it stands out for being a complete experience. Combat is okay and exploration is fine, though neither really wowed me. Story is "there;" it exists in some capacity with a premise and some world building, though it doesn't really go anywhere. There were definitely some frustrations, but if you have VR and want something to use it on then this game will do well. Took about 11 hours to 100%. --- Now to rant about those frustrations. Combat feels to be lacking depth, which led to the encounters feeling either rote and boring or an unwieldy clusterf*ck. Getting shot at all sides with only a buckler to protect myself with feels bad. It also feels bad that you do not unlock any improved survivability anywhere in the game; you take as much damage and have as much health as you do from the start. Granted, there's an abundance of resources and I never hurt for healing items (or shields so what's the point of them being consumables?), but util...
