STORY SUMMARY

If you were to ask any of Artheleron Hudin`s fellow villagers, you would surely hear them say that he "has tied his pants with some pretty sturdy rope". After all he did have his entire veteran pension and he lived in a nice little place in a tidy little house, which didn`t even belong to him to begin with. Not only that but he still had hair where it mattered most. Truth be told, apart from all these blessings Hudin also enjoyed as much alcohol as he liked and even managed to keep on running a secret trade with an old friend of his. And had no intention of dying soon, since he was immortal.

But it wasn’t all roses to him. The shack he was given on a flexible term because of his previous military service was in a dire need of renovation. Additionally, due to the essence of his immortality, he no longer lived to drink and rather drank to live. Not to mention that things go sideways when his business partner is accused of murder. Hudin is now forced by the local authorities to find his friend and deal with him. An that, to put it mildly, is how he is dragged out of retirement…

Bottoms Up! Is a linear visual novel with a compelling, interesting, funny story set in a unique world. The illustrations have a unique artstyle and the animatons are well-made. The music offers a relaxing accompaniment to the reading experience, which is subtle enough to linger in the background without distracting the reader. The story is a perfect read for fantasy buffs, lovers of eastern-european folklore, or avid readers of Terry Pratchet or Piers Anthony. It is a truly fascinating read and I am eager for the second part's arrival.

The art is pretty good and I love the storytelling. At first, it may seem a bit slow, but you quickly get wrapped up and want to resolve the story! I can't wait for part 2!

I was pleasantly surprised by what I can describe as a well-written, immersive visual novel. The music was great and set up the atmosphere, the art is also really nice, the characters are interesting and some of them are distinctively slavic (which struck a note tbh). The main character kind of reminded me of an older, drunker, grumpier version of Geralt of Rivia, which even made it easier to relate to. Excellent work! Can't wait for the next chapter!
