The game is buggy as hell despite being what's supposed to be a turn based game. Just in the last few hours I've had one CTD, twice where the game effectively freezes where you're waiting for the AI to make their turn but it never happens, and a dialogue option that repeats and can't be exited from. I can't continue the campaign due to this bug: https://steamcommunity.com/app/226860/discussions/1/350542050095526329/ They claimed a fix was coming, but it's been 8 years since then. The game itself is not that bad, given that I got it for cheap, but it's no excuse to not fix your damn bugs.

User Reviews
I remember playing "Galactic Empire Builder" on my Commodore 64. This is the same thing, only with graphics and additional buttons to press.
I love 4x games in generals. Galactic civ 3 is in the mid range for the learning curves, so if you dont have a background in 4x games it will take 2-3 games and some patience to learn a lot of the mecanics. I love the immense level of customization you have on the ships, and it is a big part of the game to use what you have available. Its a very good game overall and you can replay it infinitely so very good bang for you bucks!
Good game, easy for new players to get into. Just make sure to grab an ally on your team when setting up the game for training wheels
I have played this game for hundreds of hours on an old copy, I loved it when it was new and still love it. It has a great balance between strategic depth and casual game play, plus a wonderfully quirky sense of humour that always makes me laugh. You can't miss with this title.
A great 4X game, but some DLCs have a serious imbalance / difficulty issue: Rise of the Terrans for example.
awesome game! Tech tree is amazing, options are many, very interesting game :)
Extremely buggy multiplayer; you can start a new session alright, but when you try to load that session, it crashes, every time. My friend and I tried for hours to find a fix, discovered that this is a known bug, but given the game's age, it will never be patched. Also, when we started a new game, it would stall when loading turns in multiplayer, corrupting that save file, and forcing you to load an earlier save. Another known bug... We tried as much as we did because the game itself is a blast and we wanted to see what it was like to get past turn 50. Alas... Stay clear of this game if you want to play multiplayer.
Great game
