About This Game

A strategic 2D equipment-based auto battler. Equip your fighters with different items and artefacts to form a team. Then send them off to fight against AI opponents in single player or against other human players online. By combining certain types of items you can increase your strength or counter the opponents' strategies.

How to play

Auto RiskRisk is an equipment-based auto battler. This means your goal, as the one managing your fighters, is to assemble the strongest team possible using different equipment and strategies in order to win.

Use the money you earn each round to buy new equipment for your fighters.
Buying multiple of the same items combines them into stronger versions.
Each item belongs to two different sets. If you collect multiple of the same set you get additional set bonuses.
Position your fighters and their equipment to make the most of them during battles.

Each round you face off against an opponent's team.
Your fighters will automatically run out and fight for you with the equipment you have assigned to them.
The loser of the battle will lose health and if you go down to 0 health you are out of the game.
The last player standing is the winner!

This game has depth and it is paired with a strong feeling of "just one more round". It is certainly deceptive with its humble graphics and somewhat limited gameplay feedback but make no mistake, it will suck you in if you let it. The game is clear in its on-boarding, mechanics and goals. There seems to be a lot to try out and discover in terms of combinations and strategies. The different systems stack on top of each other in an interesting way and it makes me want to play more.

Good game with really well-thought-out mechanics. These sorts of card games, and turn-based games in general, are not usually my cup of tea. However, I found myself playing my first session much longer than I would have thought, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. * Nice synergies! (Can I tweak it just a little to get it up one more level?) * Well-balanced learning curve. * Liked the prophecy mechanic. * Artifacts— they ruined my build, but I liked the concept. I think I'm just a noob and couldn't take advantage of what I had picked. ...never tried multiplayer; I'd probably get squashed.

Very intriguing game-play, there are a lot of artifacts already available which makes for a very diversified experience :) try it out for a low price of 7 euros!

Fun twist on Team Fight Tactics style game play. Asynchronous turns is a great option to have for this style of game as well.

It's very interesting to see how far this game has come- from its initial concept phases on itch.io when it was still using Fire Emblem Heroes sprites, to having a proper mobile release as an auto-battler (when it was known as Tournament of the Elements), to its current iteration. Essentially, the main gimmick that makes this stand out from other auto-battlers is the fact that equippable items you give to your units determine the different synergies, rather than the units themselves (that originally wasn't the case, it was unit based previously). I've clocked far more time into its original mobile build than on PC (given it's only just released at the time of my writing this review) but I was happy to support this developer, and I'm eager to see what they'll create in the future.

I don't usually like autobattlers but I have to say I am having a lot of fun with this. There are so many different synergies to explore and time flies as you ponder and tweak your strategy. I really like the pacing and the tradeoffs you have to make. The game feels balanced and fair, if you slip up you know it was probably your own fault, but you are not punished for it. Only real complaint I have is regarding the tooltips, I would rather it popped up on hover (instead of having to click on things to read more about them.) But that is a minor inconvenience. Also, the graphics aren't the prettiest, however to me that matters less because the gameplay is fun and solid.

A "hidden" gem! I'm intrigued by the "just-one-more" stickiness this game has. My introduction to auto battlers was Hearthstone's Battlegrounds mode, but personally, I'm quickly finding Auto RiskRisk to be much more accessible/enjoyable to me. I love the synergy puzzling! I get a feeling that I can enter each game with a strategic goal of what kind of build I'd like to explore and then the satisfaction when I manage to fulfill my two-combo synergy build is mighty sweet. I have the utmost respect for a game like this where I really can feel the love that has been put into crafting quality gameplay. It pains me, though, that many might scroll past it because its juice lies in the gameplay experience and not so much in its graphics.
