About This Game

Welcome, Brave Hero, to a World Lost in Time.

Embark on a roguelite adventure that pays tribute to the golden era of gaming—specifically, the nostalgic visuals and gameplay reminiscent of the PS1.

For generations, your family has fought relentlessly to end the reign of the Tyrant, an ancient being who seeks absolute power and knowledge. The journey will push you to your limits, as each run through the ever-changing realms brings new challenges and opportunities.

The world is a brutal, decaying shadow of what it once was, with fallen cities and lost empires turned into treacherous landscapes.

Gear is Your Lifeline. As in true roguelite fashion, survival hinges on what you find. Unlock new weapons and armor and find hidden Skull Altars to upgrade your power., and arm yourself for the endless journey ahead. Without these, you are nothing.

Roguelite Progression, Soulslike Combat. Each run is unique. Engaging combat mechanic —requiring timing, skill, and a bit of luck—determine your fate. Fight, die, learn, and rise again as the challenge intensifies with every attempt.

Ever-Evolving Worlds and Relentless Foes. Every biome and encounter is procedurally generated, with enemies and bosses ready to strike you down at every turn. No two runs are the same.

A Love Letter to PS1-Era Aesthetics. Tyrants Realm is not just a roguelite, it’s a homage to the gritty, low-poly visuals of the PS1 era. Immerse yourself in this retro-inspired world, but beware—survival is anything but simple.

Team Tyrant, you're so close to a great game here. I was having a great time at first, I was into the style of this game and the concept was appealing though there are thousands upon thousands of Souls-likes out there. I swam through the first section pretty easily with only a few deaths as I learned the play style... I got past the first boss fight and the game got extremely difficult. I don't know if it's meant to do so but for some reason after beating that character relatively easily the difficulty curve shot up so high it doesn't feel like I can progress. There feels like a false difficulty by lack of items or upgrades but stronger and multiplied enemies. I feel like I shouldn't be dying on the first rooms that have enemies after dying already before that because my character couldn't "grow". I know; "skill issue" but I apparently am not the only one having a bad feeling about the stats and animation timing/balancing. Doesn't seem to matter what items or layout is present. Blocki...

A fun and sometimes frustrating adventure. I'm surprised this indie gem isn't more popular, but here we are. After being on and off with this game since release I have finally completed the game (but it is far from over after the first successful run) and must say it is worth every penny. First and foremost this is a love letter to souls-like lovers. The game is difficult yet fair, the majority of my frustration came from some bugs in my earlier runs (which seem to be fixed now, big ups to the dev team). That is not to say there isn't some jank, but for $9.99 what is offered is plenty fluid enough. The blocking/parrying is satisfying, the weapons offer variety in stats and feel, but the enemy move sets are a bit too static for me. If you really want difficulty try playing the game blind folded, once you've learned the biomes and move sets the difficulty hovers around a 5 to me as a fairly casual gamer (who played quite a lot in my youth). I do appreciate the more difficult options af...

Do I enjoy the game? Yes - quite a bit. Can I suggest the game? No, I really can't. It's an exercise in frustration with a brutal learning curve, some notable balance issues, and overly wonky combat control. The enemies, overall, are far too repetitive, and most of your time is spent smashing everything in a room to loot it. This is such an incredible waste of time and does nothing to advance the enjoyment of the game; quite the opposite to be honest. There's a really good game in here...it just needs some help finding its way out.

Game is unplayable due to resolution stretching bug. Contacted support to try to get the issue resolved rather than refund an indie title I genuinely wanted to support, but they've been unresponsive. It's a shame.

A hidden gem. If you are a fan of games like Dark Souls or Blade of Darkness you will definitively like this. Keep in mind that it’s a roguelite, so for its nature it can be a little bit grindy and repetitive. If you can look past that, it’s a great experience.

Cool little souls-like. Enjoyed my playthrough. A tad short unless you're a completionist looking for all the weapons and armor but on the other hand it was only 5$. Can recommend.

Unfortunately I find the game too difficult to really enjoy. Yeah sure you can find new weapons and armor which will make the game a bit easier... But there's a lot of requirement here to remember all the different attacks from enemies and how to properly defend/counter them. But if there are multiple enemies attacking you it can be easy to just mess up. And messing up is punishing, brutal.
